CALL FOR PAPERS 2015 Pre-ICIS SIGLEAD Workshop Leadership and the IS Profession: Challenges and Opportunities in Developing Human Capital
You are invited to submit a paper for presentation and discussion at the 2015 pre-ICIS Special Interest Group (SIG) SIGLEAD workshop, to be held 1 pm to 5 pm on 13 December 2015, in Fort Worth, Texas. The mission of the AIS Special Interest Group on IS Leadership (SIGLead) is to:
· Encourage and promote the study of IS leadership.
· Create a forum for the discussion, exchange, and dissemination of information on IS Leadership.
As such, this pre-ICIS workshop is dedicated to open discussions about the most important issues today, theoretical streams and different possible ways forward. The focus of the workshop is informed discussion.
Workshop Objective
This workshop tackles new development on IS leadership and the IS profession, bringing together academic and practitioner perspectives on this critical area. Topics solicited for the workshop include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Educating and developing IS leaders
· Creating sustainable IS leadership
· IS leadership research
· IS leadership readiness assessment
· Attributes of effective IS leaders
· IS technological leadership
· Impact of IS leadership on firm performance
· Types of IS leadership
· Emerging issues to leaders and professionals (i.e. impact of cloud or big data on the profession)
Submission
We welcome full research papers, research in progress, and discussion papers. Full papers should be max 5000 words. Discussion papers may be short, just a few pages, but should clearly and distinctly address one or more issues pertinent to IS leadership and IS profession research including research methods and quality as well as focus of studies. Papers should be designed to support in-depth discussions of one of these issues during the workshop. The workshop papers will be clustered and each session will discuss a small set of papers focusing on similar or related issues. Each submission will be reviewed by two members of the SIGLEAD executive, who are the co-chairs for this activity.
Authors will have the option to have their submission published in the e-proceeding should they wish, however are under no obligation do to so. Upon confirmation of acceptance, authors will be asked whether they elect to include their paper in the e-proceedings.
