The Accounting Information Systems track is interested in research on the link between accounting, information technology and information systems. The objective is to bring together academics and practitioners from all disciplines related to Accounting Information Systems and to intensify the exchange between the various perspectives on research at the intersection of Accounting and Information Systems. The track is intended to establish a European perspective on AIS research at the ECIS conference series.

Insightful, coherent and methodically sound studies of any type (construction-oriented rese-arch, design science research, case study-based research, action research, survey studies, archi-val analysis, experimental research, theory development, etc.) are equally encouraged. Completed research and research-in-progress papers will be accepted. The review process will be double-blind by at least three anonymous referees.

The track will tentatively consist of 4 to 8 journal quality paper presentations, and a panel. The emphasis is on a high level of interaction, discussion, and debate in a friendly, supportive and relaxed atmosphere. At the same time, the intent is to provide a forum for bringing the leading AIS researchers and developing scholars together to discuss and critique leading edge research in the field.

The Accounting Information Systems track will cover a wide range of topics.

Topics of interest include but are not limited to:

IS assurance, audit, control, and reporting
IS evaluation, IS assessment, IT business value, IS costs and benefits

Publishing Opportunity for selected accepted papers at the

International Journal of Accounting Information Systems (IJAIS)

At the authors' prerogative, submitted papers can also be considered for publication in the International Journal of Accounting Information Systems (IJAIS). These papers should constitute original research that is not currently being considered for publication or has not been previously published elsewhere. All accepted papers will be considered for nomination as a fast-track publication to the IJAIS by the track co-chairs. Track co-chairs will make the initial recommendation as to whether the manuscript is appropriate for a fast-track publication. Papers recommended by the co-chairs will be submitted to IJAIS to be fast-tracked through the review process by the co-chief editors (Severin Grabski and Stewart Leech). While a manuscript may be nominated for fast-track consideration, the journal editors retain all decision rights as to whether the manuscript is acceptable for publication.
