SESSION DESCRIPTION:
Most governments are currently engaged in ambitious, tight-scheduled e-government Electronic Public Service Delivery initiatives. The goal of these e-government initiatives is to provide the business community and citizens with an efficient and effective public service. However, there are fewer requirements engineering challenges to both public sector organizations, governments and the software engineering community than those posed by this worldwide introduction of e-government public service delivery systems. The e-service delivery challenges for e-government are profound. Citizens and business organizations that need to deal with the government should have a choice of channels for accessing government services. Private and voluntary sector organizations should be able to access both the central and local government information in order to deliver their services to the citizens. The mobility of the citizens over a wide geographical range raises new essential system an! ! d user requirements for the e-government EPSD system. To meet the challenges posed by these systems, new and efficient requirements engineering methods, processes, and techniques that are suitable for developing government-to-citizen (G2C), government-to-business (G2B) and government-to-government (G2G) systems are required. This session is seeking for thought-provoking presentations and revealing case studies that intend to break new ground in understanding the requirements engineering challenges and issues that will lead to latest thinking and practical steps in developing 'joined-up' e-government electronic public service delivery systems both regionally and internationally.
