First International Workshop on Nature-Inspired Sensory Systems and Computing (NISSC 2009)
To be held in conjunction with ICDIM 2009 Technical co-sponsored by IEEE
Proceedings will be published and indexed by IEEE Xplore
November 1-4, 2009 Michigan, USA http://www.icdim.org/nature.php
Introduction and Scope:
Biological systems contain a set of effective sensory systems that are structurally functional and modular and possess inherent complexities yet well organized. If the features and characteristics are studied and applied in computing, it will result in significant advances in computing paradigms. There is little research on the application of sensory systems in computing paradigms. The underlying purpose of the workshop is to induce researchers to work and submit research on the experimental, architectural and theoretical focus on the application of sensory systems. Sensory system principles and concept needs to be captured and applied in the design of novel computing systems.
The proposed workshop will lead to introduce the state-of-the art research in sensory systems from different perspectives; and to design the sensory systems to optimize the existing and to develop innovative computing and communications paradigms.
Topics and areas:
The proposed workshop will reflect the following areas:
* Biological intelligence in computing * Sensory system models * Multimodal signal integration * Neuro-inspired sensors * Swarm intelligence Impact of sensory systems on - * Wireless sensor networks * network modeling and Neuro-computing * Grid computing * Ant colony optimization * Pervasive computing * Cellular computing * Agent computing * Distributed computing, parallel computing
Paper
The authors need to send the research papers which address innovative models, architecture, themes and experimentation. All papers will be reviewed by at least two reviewers as a blind reviewing. All accepted papers in workshop will in ICDIM 2009 will be indexed in dblp. (http://www.informatik.uni-trier.de/~ley/db/conf/icdim/index.html)
Besides the modified versions of the workshop papers will be published in the following peer reviewed journals.
1. Journal of Digital Information Management (JDIM) 2. Journal of Sensory System Computing (JSSC) 3. International Journal of Information Technology and Web Engineering (IJITWE) 4. International Journal of Web Applications IJWA)
Paper Length:
The paper length should be 6 pages in 2-cloumns IEEE format .
Important Dates Submission of Papers: June 30, 2009 Notification of Paper Acceptance/Rejection: July 31, 2009 Camera Ready Paper due: September 1, 2009
