Call for Papers

Theory and Research Methods Track at PACIS 2011
Brisbane, Australia, 8-11 July, 2011

Description:

Theories provide explanations of observed phenomena. Research methods
are the way research is conducted to build, extend, adapt, and test or
evaluate theories. This track seeks innovative papers on the development
and evaluation of theories in information systems; and the development,
application, and critical evaluation of the research methods used.
Topics covered include (but are not limited to):

    • Action Research
    • Case Research (interpretivist and/or positivist)
    • Critical Research
    • Qualitative data analysis methods and techniques
    • Quantitative and statistical data analysis methods and techniques
    • PLS modeling and data analysis methods and techniques
    • CB-SEM modeling and data analysis methods and techniques
    • Process tracing methodology and trace data analysis
    • Longitudinal or time series research and data analysis methods
    • Design Science
    • Ethnography
    • Experimental Research
    • Grounded Theory
    • Literature review as Research Method
    • Survey Research
    • Novel or interesting combinations of methods for multi-method work
    • The nature of theory and research
    • The nature of IS Theory
    • Exploring research paradigms

You are invited to submit papers to this track at PACIS 2011.  Submitted
papers should not have been submitted for review, accepted for
publication, or already published elsewhere. The official language of
the conference is English. All papers must be written in English. Papers
are limited to 12 pages in length, including all figures, tables,
references, and the title and abstract page (for further details see
http://www.pacis2010.org/submission_guideline.htm).

The deadline for submission of papers is March 7, 2011 (11:59pm Brisbane
time).

All papers must be submitted electronically using the conference's
online submission system which will be available soon at the conference
website: http://www.pacis2011.org <http://www.pacis2011.org/> . Accepted
papers will appear in the conference proceedings provided that at least
one author registers for and presents in the conference. High-quality
papers will be nominated for the best-paper award, and will be offered
opportunities for "fast track" journal publication.
