Sipior, Villanova University Guest Editors Mike Tae In Eom and Jennifer Gerow present the Association for Information Systems Special Interest Group on Information Systems Leadership’s (AIS SIG LEAD) special issue on “IS Leadership.” AIS SIG LEAD consists of 120-plus academicians and researchers worldwide promoting and focusing on the importance of IS leadership in the areas of leadership on the part of senior IS executives, IS professional development (IS employees/internal workforce), and IS professional services (IS consultants and contractors/external workforce). This special issue features five excellent articles (one conceptual and four research articles) in line with the mission of the AIS SIG LEAD: SPECIAL ISSUE ARTICLES 1. Exploring Health Information Exchange (HIE) through Collaboration framework: Normative Guidelines for IT Leadership of Healthcare Organizations by Michele Heath, Radha Appan, and Naveen Gudigantala 4. Can Political Skill Enhance Business and IT Knowledge? by Jennifer E. Gerow, Varun Grover, and Jason Bennett Thatcher 5. Investigating the Prevalence and Performance Correlates of Vertical versus Shared Leadership in Emergent Software Development Teams by Adarsh Kumar Kakar REGULAR ARTICLE 1. Resource complementarity and IT economies of scale: mechanisms and empirical evidence by Ulco Woudstra, Egon Berghout, Chee-Wee Tan, Patrick van Eekeren, and Guido Dedene CALL FOR PAPERS ISM places a high value on article content that communicates advanced practices to address current IS management challenges and innovative applications of new, but proven, information technologies. The methodological orientation is towards field research informed by published literature, but primarily based on case study, surveys, and field experiences of IS experts.
