Call for Papers, Focus Theme: Emerging Standards
Dear Colleagues:
EM - Electronic Markets is a key forum for advancing the understanding and practice of electronic markets and commerce (http://www.electronicmarkets.org).
Guest Editor: J. Felix Hampe, University of Koblenz-Landau
Standards underpin electronic markets -- without standards markets cease to function well. This issue will focus on emerging standards and asks the question: what do we need to know about tomorrow's standards?
This Call has an explicit focus on applications and business models and seeks to avoid presenting long lists of code.
A List of Possible Topics includes, but is not limited to:
1. Application-level standards covering developments such as catalogue standards (e.g. BMEcat), as they are important for EM automatization.
2. Architectures
3. Encryption and signature standards especially with regard to the transition problem from older standards to emerging ones
4. Adoption/diffusion of standards
Within XML-based standards, the areas of interest, include (in no particular order):
1. XML-based Application Frameworks
2. XML-based Content Management
3. XML Schemas
4. Designing Application-based Standards
5. Transforming Conceptual Models into XML-based Standards
6. XML-Query
7. XML Encryption
8: XForms
9. XML-Signatures
EM accepts short papers up to 2500 words, or long papers up to 5000 words. Please refer to the Contributors Section at http://www.electronicmarkets.org for our templates and additional specifications.
