Call for Papers and Special Session Proposals
The 2008 International Symposium on Applied Computing and Computational Sciences (ACCS 2008), Hong Kong, August 1-3, 2008 ( http://www.gip.hk/accs2008/)
(Papers Due: May 15, 2008) Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings and extended version of some selected high-quality papers will be published in the special issue of International Journal of Computational Sciences and International Journal of Applied Computing. ─────────────────────────────────────────────────────── As is known to all, Computational Sciences is an emerging and promising discipline in shaping future research and development activities in both academia and industry, in fields ranging from engineering, science, finance, and economics, to arts and humanities. New challenges arise in the modeling of complex systems, sophisticated algorithms, advanced scientific and engineering computing and associated (multidisciplinary) problem-solving environments. Because the solution of large and complex problems must cope with tight timing schedules, powerful algorithms and computational techniques, are inevitable. To provide an idea-exchange and discussion platform for the world's researchers and practitioners, The 2008 International Symposium on Applied Computing and Computational Sciences (ACCS 2008) will be held in Hong Kong on 1-3 August, 2008. It provides three day's focus on the computational theory and its application that are the basis for the Computational Sciences. The theme of the plenary session is "Applying Computing to Improve Life" featuring invited speakers who will further explore this topic that is so significant for these fields.
