********* Overview: *********
IEEE/WIC/ACM WI-IAT Workshop on ECBS 2009 is the international workshop on advances in theory, systems, and applications for electronic commerce. The workshop is in conjunction with the 2009 IEEE/WIC/ACM International Conference on Web Intelligence/Intelligent Agent Technology (WI/IAT 2009). The increase of Electronic Commerce and Business research activities can be observed in a variety of the fields. Though there have been several workshops on Electronic Commerce, Business and Services based on intelligent agents, there is little interaction so far among researchers. The aim of this workshop is to encourage activities in this field, and to bring together world-wide researchers with an interest in Electronic Commerce and Business. Unlike conventional conferences, this workshop will mainly discuss and explore scientific and practical problems as raised by the participants. The focus of the workshop will be on computer science, game theory, auction theory, artificial intellig! en! ce, multi-agent systems, WWW, semantic web, etc. In particular, the workshop will bring together researchers from Computer Science and Economics. The workshop is interdisciplinary in nature, and will address the following topics with intelligent agent and multi-agent technology:
E-Commerce Software Architecture Cloud Computing E-Catalog Security and Trust WWW and Semantic Web Intelligent e-commerce system & agents E-Business Practical Softwares Efficient mechanisms for trading E-Procurement and Auctions Coordination Mechanisms Negotiation Mechanisms E-Service Service Science Service Softwares Web services in e-commerce Service Matching Theoretical Perspectives Economic and game theoretic design & analysis P2P & its application on e-commerce Scheduling protocols in e-commerce Computational mechanism design Practical Perspectives Business Models Business Softwares Software Developments Practical Surveys
These issues are being explored by researchers from different communities in Electronic Commerce. This workshop will bring together researchers from these communities to learn about each other's approaches, form long-term collaborations, and cross-fertilize the different areas to accelerate progress towards scaling up to larger and more realistic applications.
************* Submissions and Formatting Guidelines: *************
We encourage submission in IEEE-CS format. The length of papers should be 4 pages.
We require on-line submission through IEEE/WIC/ACM IAT Conference Paper Management System: http://www.wi-iat09.disco.unimib.it/IAT09/submission.htm
The workshop is soliciting full papers on all aspects of electronic commerce, business and services. Submitted papers will be evaluated on significance, originality, technical quality, and exposition. They should clearly establish the research contribution, its relevance to electronic commerce, and its relation to prior research. All accepted papers will be provided an oral presentation at the conference. Each paper needs to be reviewed by at least three PC members or experts in the field. Multiple submission policy for papers: Papers that are being submitted to other conferences, whether verbatim or in essence, must reflect this fact on the title page. Papers that do not meet this requirement are subject to rejection without review.
********** Publication: **********
All papers accepted for workshops will be included in the Workshop Proceedings, which are expected to be published by IEEE Computer Society Press and will be indexed by EI.
********** Registration: **********
WI/IAT 2009 will NOT have a separate workshop registration fee this year (i.e., only one conference registration covers everything). Please register the workshop via IEEE/WIC/ACM WI-IAT 2009 web page.
