Call for Papers
The 11th Annual Symposium on
Research in Systems Analysis and Design (http://sigsand2012.sauder.ubc.ca)
will be held in Vancouver, BC, Canada, on June 1st-2nd, 2012.
The purpose of the symposium is to provide a forum for
discussion and interaction among scholars with research
interests in all issues related to analysis and design of
enterprise systems. We solicit research papers addressing
issues such as creation of new systems analysis and design
formalisms and development methods (grammars and methods),
evaluation of new or existing formalisms and methods by
examining issues involving their use (scripts and context),
and polemic arguments on the potential value of various
approaches. Given the broad range of issues in this call,
submissions can be anchored in any of a range of research
methods including formal analysis, systems development (design
science), experiments, case studies, and field studies.
Specific research topics include:
Submissions may be: 1)
completed research papers or 2) research-in-progress papers.
Completed research papers should include the design of the
research along with the findings; research-in-progress papers
can include just initial ideas and some initial thoughts on
design. Each submission should indicate the submission type on
the cover page. The following length limits apply:
Submissions should be sent as
email attachments to (sigsand@sauder.ubc.ca)
and marked "Submission" in the Subject field. All
submissions should be double-spaced and use 12-point font.
All submissions will be
reviewed by the symposium organizers for relevance and
contribution to the theme. Accepted submissions will receive
in-depth feedback at the symposium from participants. Feedback
at the symposium is developmental in scope and tone. In
addition to substantive feedback, authors of completed
research may receive advice about positioning and potential
journal submissions. Research-in-progress authors may receive
specific feedback on structuring the research, research
methods, and strategic positioning. Authors will retain
copyright on their work, allowing them to submit revised
versions of their papers to other outlets. The PDF version can
be found here
