31st INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SOFTWARE ENGINEERING Vancouver, Canada, 16-24 May 2009 http://www.cs.uoregon.edu/events/icse2009
The International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE) is the premier software engineering conference, providing a forum for researchers, practitioners and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, experiences and concerns in the field of software engineering.
We invite high quality submissions of technical papers describing original and unpublished results of theoretical, empirical, conceptual, and experimental software engineering research. Incremental improvements over previously published work should have been evaluated through systematic empirical or experimental evaluation. Submissions of papers describing groundbreaking approaches to emerging problems will be considered based on timeliness and potential impact. Incremental improvements over previously published work are expected to be evaluated through rigorous analyses, empirical studies, or experiments. Topics of interest for ICSE include, but are not limited to:
Requirements Engineering Specification and Verification Software Architecture and Design Patterns and Frameworks Analysis and Testing Reverse Engineering, Refactoring, and Evolution Program Comprehension and Visualization Tools and Environments Empirical Software Engineering Software Metrics Development Paradigms and Software Processes Computer-supported Cooperative Work Component-based, Aspect-oriented, Service-oriented Software Engineering Model Driven Engineering Distributed Systems and Middleware Mobile and Embedded System Open Standards and Certification Software Economics Software Configuration and Deployment Dependability (safety, security, reliability) Case Studies and Experience Reports
ICSE'09 HIGHLIGHTS - Mentoring Program. This new program enables prospective submitters to the research track to gain advice from past ICSE authors on the structure and content of a prospective submission.
- Software Engineering in Practice Track invites submissions from practitioners and academics, who may pose problems, relate success or failure stories, or report on industrial practice.
- New Ideas and Emerging Results. This track provides a forum for presenting and getting early feedback on novel research ideas and promising work that has not yet been fully evaluated.
- Research Demo Track. Early implementations of tool support for novel and innovative software engineering techniques and processes.
- Mini-Tutorials. Invited speakers will provide both strategic and technical briefings of areas of importance to software engineers.
- Co-located events: ICPC (International Conference on Program Comprehension), VISSOFT (International Workshop on Visualization for Software Engineering), MSR (Mining Software Repositories)
- Workshops provide opportunities for exchanging views, advancing ideas, and discussing preliminary results in software engineering research and applications.
- Tutorials offer detailed presentations on the latest trends in software engineering research and practice.
- Doctoral Symposium. This provides a forum for Ph.D. students to present their research and get feedback from software-engineering researchers.
- SCORE is an undergraduate and graduate software-engineering contest whose finals well be presented at ICSE'09.
LOCATION ICSE'09 will be held in Vancouver, a beautiful city on the west coast of Canada next to the Pacific Ocean and the coastal mountains. Attractions include a vibrant downtown area and ample sporting opportunities including sailing and hiking.
