The WSTNet Web Science Summer School 2016 will take place from 30
June to 6 July in Koblenz (Germany).
Keynotes and tutorials will provide participants with an insight
into the key areas of Web Science:
Introduction to Web Science,
Computational Social Science,
Social Machines,
Web and Politics,
Web Entrepreneurship,
Web and Law.
We know that sustainable learning requires both receiving
information and applying it. That is why at WWSSS’16, participants
will consolidate their insights from tutorials and keynotes in
project work, supervised by experts in the related fields.
Invited speakers and tutors include Jim Hendler, Noshir
Contractor, Stéphane Bazan, Nikolaus Forgó, Steffen Staab, Markus
Strohmaier, Elena Simperl, Simon Köhl, and others. Beside working
in teams, we will provide an inspiring and enjoyable environment
with plenty of opportunities to connect with other attendees and
established researchers in the field of Web Science. This includes
a poster session where participants present their research and
obtain feedback on it as well as several social events and an
excursion.
WWSSS’16 is the first official summer school of the Web Science
Trust Network, an international network of some of the world’s
leading academic researchers in Web Science. The 2016 edition is
organised in Koblenz, in the UNESCO world heritage Upper Middle
Rhine Valley.
Corresponding to the transdisciplinary curriculum, WWSSS’16
welcomes anyone interested in the field of Web Science, regardless
of their discipline.
We look forward to meet you in person at WWSSS’16!
