New technology is emerging at an unprecendented rate. Tasks that were not feasible before are becoming trivial. Today, we can communicate with anybody at any place at any time. New software products are being developed almost everyday to assist decision making at different managerial levels. With the rapid changes in technology and software, analysts are beginning to provide support to high level executives like, the Board of Directors, the President, the Congress, Directors and the CEOs. With the advent of internet/intranet, decision support is taking a completely different meaning,an on-line real time paperless support.
RECOMMENDED TOPICS
The Decision Support Technologies Track encourages the submission of
quality papers and panel and
workshop proposals dealing with (but not limited to) the following
topics:
Intranet/internet and its implications for Decision support
Data Warehousing and its usage in decision support
Cross-cultural issues in multinational decision support
Successes and failures in decision support applications
Data mining and its implications for decision support
Client/server architecture for decision support
Decision support in human resource management
Field/lab studies that provide innovative ideas
Intelligent information Support Systems
Emerging technologies and their implication for decision support
Full lengths papers (3-3500 words), research-in-progress proposals
(abstracts/summaries of 500-1000 words) and panel, workshop, tutorial
or
symposium proposals (500-1000 words) invited.
