CALL FOR PAPERS *** AMCIS 2017: Mini-Track on Digital Crime and Information Systems Security *** August 10-12, 2017, BOSTON, MA, USA Paper submission deadline: March 1, 2017 https://amcis2017.aisnet.org/ We invite submissions to the Digital Crime and Information Systems Security mini-track, within the Information Systems Security and Privacy track (SIGSec) of AMCIS 2017. The mini-track is aligned with SIGSec’s effort to address the emerging developments in information security. In the realm of digital crime, there are various significant developments, both in the ways in which criminals use technology to commit crime, but also in the ways in which organizations respond to this by developing appropriate countermeasures to fight crime. Description Digital crime is costing businesses billions of dollars every year. Besides the heavy toll in resources, recent reports indicate that it can take up to 46 days for companies to fully resolve security incidents. Criminals build on the global reach, anonymity and convenience of ICT and social media to identify and exploit various socio-organizational and technical vulnerabilities. Digital crime is an inherently diverse activity; it covers a wide spectrum between computer-assisted (existing, but digitalized) and computer-enabled (completely novel) types of crime, and spans physical and virtual borders. This mini-track invites the submission of papers that address a variety of issues pertaining to the prevention, detection and response to digital crimes, including criminological and crime science approaches. Interdisciplinary research that examines the causes, forensic investigation processes, or wider economic and societal impact of digital crimes, among other topics, is particularly welcome. Scope Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: · Digital forensics and fraud investigations · Criminological studies in Information Security · Cyber-bullying and cyber-stalking · Digital fraud and theft · Cyber-espionage · Online child exploitation · Dark Net markets · Cyber-Law · Cryptocurrencies and digital crime · Digital crime detection and prevention · Economic and financial aspects of digital crime Important Dates · Manuscript Submissions Begin: January 9, 2017 · Manuscript Submissions Due: March 1, 2017, 1:00 PM EST · Notification of Initial Decision: April 17, 2017 Submission Types · Completed research papers (lesss than 5,000 words, excluding references, tables, and figures) · Research-in-progress papers (less than 3,500 words, excluding references, tables, and figures) All conference submissions will be double-blind, peer reviewed, and must be submitted using the online submission system.
