This minitrack focuses on practice inspired research of human-AI collaboration. We welcome submissions that deal with real-world problems for orchestrating collaborative activities to solve tasks by using a combination of human and machine intelligence (hybrid intelligence).
This minitrack intends to shed light on promising and unexplored application areas in which human-AI collaboration creates value (e.g. AI teammates augment humans in coping with collaboration and working challenges). This minitrack is open to a plethora of different methodological approaches (e.g. case studies, design science, action research) as well as topics that are examined within the individual submissions. Please note that submissions that have either been inspired by real-world problems, or that are discussing practical applications of human-AI collaboration are also invited.
Topics to be discussed in this minitrack include (but are not limited to) the following:
* Methodologies and approaches to design and facilitate Human-AI-Collaboration * Approaches for a new division of labor (including hand-offs) in reference to the task design and capabilities of AI and humans * Decision models for deciding, whether, when and how to access human input * Exemplary use cases in various fields of application that refer to collaborative work practices e.g. in which AI acts as teammate (e.g. AI peer, AI coach); in which AI facilitates human collaboration (e.g. AI facilitator); for AI-assisted human learning (AI-in-the-loop); for human-assisted machine learning (human-in-the-loop) * Effectiveness of Human-AI-Collaboration (e.g. effectiveness of different training strategies in improving the performance of workers for accomplishing complex tasks) * Orchestration of learning (of the AI, from the AI, with the AI), e.g. human-in-the-loop learning, AI-in-the-loop-learning * Design of incentive structures for Human-AI-Collaboration * Facilitation of continuous engagement in Human-AI-Collaboration * User reactions when confronted with an AI collaborator * Approaches for increasing user acceptance of collaboration systems with AI components * Prototypes of Human-AI-Collaboration in various application domains (e.g. tutoring, service) * Practical approaches to avoid deskilling of humans * Boundaries and Challenges of Human-AI-Collaboration
