Organized by Rutgers University, with support from DIMACS and NSF, the International Symposium on Voronoi Diagrams in Science and Engineering (ISVD) is the premier conference on Voronoi diagrams and their applications to real-world problems from scientific and engineering disciplines.
ISVD 2012 seeks submission of papers on original and unpublished research in all areas of Voronoi diagrams and their applications to science and engineering. Submissions are also invited of Voronoi art posters or videos exhibiting applications of Voronoi diagrams to be presented as a special Voronoi art exhibition before the symposium. Authors are invited to submit papers (up to 10 pages) describing original research on the following topics:
Theoretical aspects of Voronoi diagrams and Delaunay triangulations Generalizations of Voronoi diagrams and Delaunay triangulations Algorithmic aspects of Voronoi diagrams Mathematical properties of Voronoi diagrams Computational and implementation aspects of Voronoi diagrams Conceptual and logical data models based on Voronoi diagrams Terrain modeling and meshes using Delaunay triangulation 2D and 3D Spatial topological data structures based on Voronoi diagram Visualization, animation and morphing using Voronoi diagrams Pattern analysis and recognition using Voronoi diagrams Motion analysis and planning using Voronoi diagrams Collision detection, navigation and obstacle avoidance using Voronoi diagrams Network analysis and communication using Voronoi diagrams Clustering and distributing using Voronoi diagrams Dynamic data modeling and simulation using Voronoi diagrams Spatial and autocorrelation analysis using weighted metrics and Voronoi diagrams Image processing using Voronoi diagrams Molecular, biological and physical modeling using Voronoi diagram Voronoi diagrams in bioinformatics, astronomy, geography, chemistry, material science, location science, solid modeling and operations research Voronoi art and other applications.
Authors are also invited to submit papers (up to 10 pages) describing original research in polynomiography and biometrics related to Voronoidiagrams, Delaunay graphs or more generally computational geometry and topology. Authors are also invited to submit Voronoi art posters (up to A0 format) or videos exhibiting nice applications of Voronoi diagrams to be presented on June 26th as a special Voronoi art exhibition. All submitted papers will be referred for quality, originality and relevance by the International Programme Committee (scientific committee). All submissions will be done online using the EasyChair conference system. A link will be available from the symposium web page.
All accepted papers will be published in the proceedings of the symposium (with ISBN), to be published by the IEEE Computer Society. They will be available at a later date than the date of the symposium. Selected papers will be published in a special issue of the Springer Journal of Transactions on Computational Science, International Journal of Applied Logistics (IJAL) IGI and other journals. Abstracts of the accepted and invited contributions will be available at the Symposium. All papers will be available online. Selected papers (up to 10) will be published in a special issue of the Springer journal Transactions on Computational Science and other journals. ISVD 2012 will take place at the Rutgers University, NJ, and supported by DIMACS and NSF.
