Special Issue on Automated Techniques for Migration to the Cloud
http://grid.chu.edu.tw/SI/ASE/
Theme and Scope
The ever-growing cloud computing platforms provide hybrid
architectures and dynamic intelligence for tomorrow. That is, the
hybrid cloud has emerged rapidly as an exciting new paradigm that
includes private cloud, public cloud and community cloud to
provide IT services anytime and anywhere. It has recently also
raised relevant interest in both the academic and the industrial
research communities as one of the most promising application
fields for intelligent cloud computing and services. The interest
in hybrid cloud environments are also shown by the relevant
industrial and standardization efforts accomplished in the last
years in this wide area. Both the academy and the industry widely
recognize the crucial role of software automation to facilitate
the development of efficient and intelligent cloud services, by
reducing implementation/deployment costs and time to market.
This special issue aims to foster the dissemination of high
quality research in methods, theories, techniques and tools
relating automation in moving legacy applications to the clouds.
In particular, this special issue will showcase the most recent
research in the automated engineering of cloud software. Original
research articles are solicited in all aspects of automated
software engineering for the cloud including theoretical studies,
practical applications, cloud programming languages and
experimental prototypes. The papers will be peer reviewed and
selected on the basis of both their quality and their relevance to
the theme of this special issue.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Automated support for hybrid cloud modeling
- Translating legacy applications to the clouds
- Automated testing of cloud computing software
- Generating cloud computing software
- Automated reasoning about cloud composition
- Program synthesis for cloud
- Translation of relational database to non-relational cloud-base
(HBase)
- Virtual machine image transformation in hybrid clouds
- Runtime support for hybrid clouds
- Techniques for migrating applications from private cloud to
public cloud, or vice-versa
