ILAIS, The Israel Chapter of the Association for Information Systems, is
excited to announce the establishment of the Ein-Dor Student Prize for
Information Systems Research.

For decades Prof. Philip Ein-Dor has been a driving force in the Israeli
and international information systems communities. He was a founding member
of the Association for Information Systems, served as the eighth president
of the global organization, and likewise one of the founders of the Israel
Association for Information Systems, serving as its chair for over a
decade. Philip was co-founder of both Communications of AIS (CAIS) and the
Journal of AIS (JAIS) and served as founding editor of JAIS and on the
editorial or advisory boards of many other journals. He has inspired and
guided numerous graduate students and researchers in the field of
information systems.
Through this award, ILAIS will encourage and support the participation of
graduate students seeking to present their work at the annual European
Conference on Information Systems (ECIS). We will expand the prize program
to cover other conference if future budgets allow.

To be eligible for the inaugural award, the applicant must:
1) be a member of ILAIS at the time the award is made;
2) be a registered graduate student at a CHE(MaLaG) recognized institute
for higher
education in Israel, at the time of conference submission;
3) be first author on the article/poster submitted;
4) have their article/poster accepted by ECIS2020.

To apply for the award applicants should email ilais.israel@gmail.com and
include their name,
proof of student status, ECIS2020 acceptance letter, accepted
article/poster in pdf form.

This year a prize for ECIS2020 (1 prize) will be awarded through a random
drawing from all
eligible applications received by midnight Israel time on 15/03/2020. This
date is approximately
2 weeks after the planned acceptance notification date for the conference.

Prize amounts will be set to the USD cost of Regular Student Registration
(approximate ECIS
2019 amount: $440) and will be paid to each awardee as reimbursement for
their registration
upon submission of their conference invoice. All other travel and
accommodation expenses are
the responsibility of the awardee.

Awardees are expected to include an acknowledgement of the ILAIS Ein-Dor
Student Prize for
Information Systems Research, in their winning paper/poster.

Introduction:

Information technology (IT) uses have been regarded as a positive
phenomenon which always generates desirable outcomes. For instance,
individuals use IT for multiple utilitarian and hedonic purposes;
organisations adopt cutting-edge technology to enhance business operations;
and governments initiate to develop a digitally enabled and sustainable
economy and smart city.



Recent years, however, have witnessed increasing negative impacts on
individuals, organisations, and societies resulted from IT uses.
Specifically, there have been increasing reported cases of cyberbullying
and technology addiction on individual users; organisations have
experienced losses in productivity and assets due to technostress and
various forms of cyberdeviance in the workplace; and the rapid advancement
of IT has created the digital divide among users across generations.
Emerging and increasing research has begun to reveal the alarming ways in
which IT uses negatively affect individuals, organisations, and societies.



Goals:

The book, Information Technology in Organisations and Societies:
Multidisciplinary Perspectives from AI to Technostress, aims at providing
an impressive list of multidisciplinary and cutting-edge research on both
the positive and negative aspects of IT use vis-?-vis individuals,
organisations, and societies. The book endeavours to provide a
comprehensive overview of the positive aspects and outcomes of digitisation
as well as on the potential harms induced or exacerbated by IT uses.
Furthermore, the text aims at providing innovative discussions on
strengthening the potential benefits of IT uses while mitigating its
potential drawbacks.



Possible Topic Areas:

The scope of the present call is broad. All topics regarding the positive
and negative uses of IT across the individual, organisational, and societal
levels will be considered. Specific topics that the editors are seeking to
round out the collection include but not limited to:

-Social media use and individual well-being

-Addictive use of technology

-Big data and consumer behaviours

-Wearable technology and health management

Audience:

The proposed book is particularly appealing to academic researchers,
postgraduate students, and undergraduate students working on IT uses
research.



Chapter Proposal Submissions:

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before 31st
January 2020 a chapter proposal which includes the followings:

-Title of the chapter

-Summary of the chapter (approx. 250 words)

-Indication of why you believe the chapter would fit in the book?s scope
and goals (approx. 50 words)

-Author bio(s) (approx. 100 words plus contact information, title, and
affiliation)

Standardisation and the Digital Society

A Session of the
19th Annual STS Conference, Graz 2020

4 - 6 May 2020



Smart systems are a fairly recent phenomenon that is becoming
increasingly popular, not just as a research topic but also in real
life. Prominent examples include the Smart Grid, Smart Manufacturing,
Intelligent Transport Systems and Smart Cities. The 'smartness' of these
systems is the result of the integration of ICT into 'traditional'
technologies, thus providing them with advanced control and
communication functions previously available only in the virtual world.

With smart systems, billions of sensors (the 'Internet of Things', IoT)
will collect data and transmit it for analysis. This process may lead to
conclusions, recommendations and, eventually, action, possibly without
any human intervention. In any case, the outcomes will have major
socio-economic, ecological and potentially ethical ramifications and
will directly impact citizens, businesses and society as a whole. They
may also have considerable legal ramifications.

This session solicits contributions that may help explain and explore
the role of standards and standardisation for the ongoing digitisation
of society and how STS could help improve standards setting and to make
standards more beneficial for society.

Topics include (but are not limited to):

* The role of standards for the digital society.
* Responsible standardisation.
* The role and representation of societal stakeholders in smart systems
standardisation.
* Legitimacy and influence of different players in standards development.
* Potential ethical issues in smart systems standardisation
* Possible contributions of society to standards development.
* Social norms and their impact on standardisation.

Abstracts should not exceed 500 words, have up to 5 keywords and provide
authors' contact details. They should be submitted through the

The tentative post doc is empirically or analytically grounded.

TYPES of SUBMISSIONS and DECISIONS

Four types of papers can be submitted:

Full paper: Finished or consolidated R&D works, to be included in one of
the Conference themes. These papers are assigned a 10-page limit.

Short paper: Ongoing works with relevant preliminary results, open to
discussion. These papers are assigned a 7-page limit.

Poster paper: Initial work with relevant ideas, open to discussion. These
papers are assigned to a 4-page limit.

Company paper: Companies' papers that show practical experience, R & D,
tools, etc., focused on some topics of the conference. These papers are
assigned to a 4-page limit.

Submitted papers must comply with the format of Advances in Intelligent
Systems and Computing Series (see Instructions for Authors at Springer
Website or download a Word Template or Latex Package) be written in
English, must not have been published before, not be under review for any
other conference or publication and not include any information leading to
the authors? identification. Therefore, the authors? names, affiliations
and bibliographic references should not be included in the version for
evaluation by the Program Committee. This information should only be

also in PDF format. These files must be accompanied by the Consent to
Publish form filled out, in a ZIP file, and uploaded at the conference
management system.

All papers will be subjected to a ?double-blind review? by at least two
members of the Program Committee.

Based on Program Committee evaluation, a paper can be rejected or accepted
by the Conference Chairs. In the later case, it can be accepted as the type
originally submitted or as another type. Thus, full papers can be accepted
as short papers or poster papers only. Similarly, short papers can be
accepted as poster papers only.

Poster papers and Company papers are not published in the Conference
Proceedings, being only presented and discussed. The authors of accepted
poster papers should build and print a poster to be exhibited during the
Conference. This poster must follow an A1 or A2 vertical format. The
Conference includes Work Sessions where these posters are presented and
orally discussed, with a 7 minute limit per poster.

The authors of accepted Full papers will have 15 minutes to present their
work in a Conference Work Session; approximately 5 minutes of discussion
will follow each presentation. The authors of accepted Short papers and
Company papers will have 11 minutes to present their work in a Conference
Work Session; approximately 4 minutes of discussion will follow each
presentation.



PUBLICATIONS and INDEXING

To ensure that a full paper or short paper is published, poster paper or
company paper is published, at least one of the authors must be fully
registered by the 8th of January 2020, and the paper must comply with the
suggested layout and page-limit. Additionally, all recommended changes must
be addressed by the authors before they submit the camera-ready version.

No more than one paper per registration will be published. An extra fee
must be paid for publication of additional papers, with a maximum of one
additional paper per registration. One registration permits only the
participation of one author in the conference.

Full and Short papers will be published in Proceedings by Springer, in
Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing series. Poster and company
papers will not be published, just presented in the conference.

Published Full and Short papers will be submitted for indexation by ISI,
EI-Compendex, SCOPUS, DBLP and Google Scholar, among others, and will be
available in the SpringerLink Digital Library.

The authors of the best selected papers will be invited to extend them for
publication in international journals indexed by ISI/SCI, SCOPUS and DBLP,
among others, such as:

OVERVIEW

The term Fog Computing has been introduced to identify a paradigm for
designing applications able to exploit both the (virtually) infinite
resources on the cloud and the limited edge computation power by operating
also on the devices living in between these two sides. More specifically,
the aim is to exploit a heterogeneous and distributed computational and
storage environment to optimize the execution of modern applications
requiring high computational resources while reducing the delay and
defining constraints on where and how data can be moved and stored. In
fact, big volumes of data are produced every day at the edge of the network
and their analysis requires to either move the computation to the data or
to move the data to the computation. For this reason, a co-design between
data and computation management is required. An example could be to define
the amount of data to be moved with respect to the complexity of required
data analysis. In some cases, this data movement is not possible or limited
due to privacy restrictions, which do not allow data collected at the edge
to be stored on cloud facilities maintained by third-party actors. In other
cases, the volume of data moved through the network introduces severe
delays in the processing and techniques to reduce the volume by
pre-processing and filtering them directly where the data are generated
should be enacted to reduce this delay. At the same time, any
transformation of the data might affect their utility for the final
customer, thus, also the quality of the data should be taken into account.
Moreover, the data collected by IoT and sensors at the edge is often
subject to quality issues that might be detected and solved before using
them for analytics and decision making.

This special issue aims to gather recent work on the topic of data and
computation management in fog computing. Topics of particular interest

The School of Information at Florida State University is seeking to fill
one (1) visiting 12 month teaching faculty position in Information
Technology, at the Teaching Faculty I level. This is a one year visiting
specialized faculty position, with potential to be renewed for one
additional year.

We are seeking a specialized faculty colleague at the rank of Teaching
Faculty I who will teach courses in areas of information technology (IT),
including technology leadership and management of information technology,
social media, IT communication, and web technology systems. The School of
Information is involved in a wide range of technology areas including,
database and web development, user experience design, mobile application
development, social media, IT project management, and network
administration. The specialized faculty position will focus on teaching in
IT and will support experiential learning in IT and social media projects.

The School of Information at Florida State University is seeking to fill
one (1) twelve-month, non- tenure-track visiting specialized faculty
position in Information Technology, at the Teaching Faculty I level.
Candidates should be able to support a teaching agenda that fits within the
broader interests of the iSchool, and demonstrate the ability to work
effectively within a highly interdisciplinary environment. Successful
applicants will be expected to teach at all levels, including courses in
the school's undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degree programs.
Experience with teaching online as well as face-to-face is desired. The
successful candidate would teach 4 courses for 3 semesters (fall, summer
and spring). All faculty members are expected to advise students and to
serve on School, College, and University committees.

Qualified applicants will have a Ph.D. from an accredited institution or
the highest degree appropriate in Information Science, Information
Technology, Computer Science, or another relevant discipline with a

Introduction



There is considerable interest in developing cities that provide not only
an
intelligent and green living environment but also providing human-centered
public services at a lower cost. Artificial intelligence (AI) will be the
cornerstone technology enabling smart cities to evolve into an organic
ecosystem. Particularly, developments in Internet of Things (IoT), AI,
intelligent IoT devices, smart sensing boosted by AI, and IoT big data
mining with AI are driving this transformation. This book aims to present
the latest research in the design and development of smart cities and
services. Specifically, this book discusses the concept, framework, and
supporting systems for smart city construction. It incorporates a large
number of the current theoretical concepts to analyze smart city evaluation
index, comparison and ranking, combining with a large number of practical
cases to introduce the development and application of artificial
intelligence in the construction, management and service of smart city. The
role and mechanism of smart city in urban governance, planning and policy
is
also discussed.



Objective



The bright future of smart city has motivated many scientific and
engineering challenges for both academia and industry, in order to fully
exploit the capabilities and benefits brought by IoT and AI. Some important
areas are smart city IT infrastructure planning; framework, protocol,
algorithm for smart sensing and data mining; novel intelligent hardware
platform or software framework; smart city modeling; security and energy
efficiency. The objective of this book is to provide a platform for
researchers to present their recent work on how IoT and AI can work
together
to enable a real smart city. Thus, this book targets recent research
findings in AI applications for Smart City. It discusses state of the art
techniques in urban infrastructure design, construction, operation,
maintenance, and management.

notified by December 2, 2019 about the status of their proposals and will
be
sent the chapter guidelines. Full chapters of 8,000-10,000 words and 7 to
10
related terms and their appropriate definitions are expected to be
submitted
by January 30, 2019. All interested authors must consult the guidelines for
manuscript submissions at

Technology, at the Teaching Faculty I level. This is a one year visiting
specialized faculty position, with potential to be renewed for one
additional year.

We are seeking a specialized faculty colleague at the rank of Teaching
Faculty I who will teach courses in areas of information technology (IT),
including technology leadership and management of information technology,
social media, IT communication, and web technology systems. The School of
Information is involved in a wide range of technology areas including,
database and web development, user experience design, mobile application
development, social media, IT project management, and network
administration. The specialized faculty position will focus on teaching in
IT and will support experiential learning in IT and social media projects.

The School of Information at Florida State University is seeking to fill
one (1) twelve-month, non- tenure-track visiting specialized faculty
position in Information Technology, at the Teaching Faculty I level.
Candidates should be able to support a teaching agenda that fits within the
broader interests of the iSchool, and demonstrate the ability to work
effectively within a highly interdisciplinary environment. Successful
applicants will be expected to teach at all levels, including courses in
the school's undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degree programs.
Experience with teaching online as well as face-to-face is desired. The
successful candidate would teach 4 courses for 3 semesters (fall, summer
and spring). All faculty members are expected to advise students and to
serve on School, College, and University committees.

Qualified applicants will have a Ph.D. from an accredited institution or
the highest degree appropriate in Information Science, Information
Technology, Computer Science, or another relevant discipline with a
