Networks in Organizations

for submission of papers to the Australasian Conference
on Information Systems, ACIS 2013 is 26th July. You are
invited to consider submitting a paper to the track on
Social Media and Social Networks in
Organizations .
Track Description
The focus of this track is on social media
and social networks in organisations. Organisations are
increasingly deploying social media and social networks
to enhance business, engage with customers and business
partners, empower employees, identify business trends
from social data, and to innovate processes, services
and management.
Social media and social networks in organisations
not only facilitate novel ways of interacting with
customers and hold the promise of new business
opportunities, they enable team work, a greater
interaction with stakeholders, creates an online
identity, and leads to the development of social
business models.
Social media and social networking via
blogs, wikis, LinkedIn, Facebook, Yammer and a myriad
other social media and networking sites are changing
organizational communication, publishing and information
dissemination trends with dynamic content, enhancing
digital democracy and rapid development of interactive
online services. Although organisational social media
and networking offer new opportunities, organisations
are still struggling with the challenges of an
appropriate social media strategy, achieving ROI from
social media investment, keeping up with new social
media developments, social media data analytics and new
social business models.
