We cordially invite you to submit a paper to CECIIS 2017 Conference that will take place at the Faculty of Organization and Informatics in Varazdin from September 27-29, 2017. The aim of the CECIIS Conference is to be the interface between researchers and professionals involved in research and development in the field of information and intelligent systems and related areas.

PAPER SUBMISSION

A camera-ready full paper of up to 8 pages should be prepared according to the Instructions for Authors and submitted following all the stages of the Paper Submission Process.

PAPER PUBLISHING

Compliant submissions will undergo a double-blind review process. Only the papers that are submitted on time, are reviewed positively and for which the registration fee is paid can be presented and published. Papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings with ISBN and distributed at the Conference.

Selected papers will be invited to be extended and published in the Journal of Information and Organizational Sciences (jios.foi.hr).

Doctoral Student Section (young researcher section) - September 29, 2017
Doctoral students are invited to submit and present results of their doctoral research on any of CECIIS conference topics. Completed or ongoing research can be presented in a form of a full research paper (up to 8 pages, to be presented in a Research Track) or a preliminary research report i.e. a doctoral research paper (up to 3 pages) or poster (both to be presented in the Doctoral Student Section). Presentation at the Doctoral Student Section aims at eliciting feedback from academic experts, fostering multi-disciplinary and cross-sectorial collaboration and building student's professional networks.


Panel discussion: Academic vs. industrial research - September 29, 2017
The panellists (4-5 eminent researchers, experts, leaders and professionals) will have 15 minutes each to present their perspectives about the cooperation between academia and industry by taking into account the best practices and benefits, as well as the obstacles and failures. The role of national and international policies and incentives related to the IT will also be explored as well as the university’s orientation towards its third mission. Similarities, particularities and complementarity of academic and industrial research shall be elaborated and real world examples and initiatives are welcome. The aim is to get more insights into the needs of both sides in order to boost the successful and sustainable university-business interaction.
VENUE

Varazdin is a small charming city in the continental Croatia, country located in Central and Southeast Europe. Rich historical heritage and lively present make the City of Varaždin one of the most picturesque towns in Croatia well worth visiting.

The CECIIS 2017 Conference takes place at the Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI). The main building is located in the very center of the City of Varazdin overlooking the main square and the City Hall.
