Call for Papers
1st Workshop on advanced virtual environments and education (WAVE2
2018)
http://wave.cin.ufpe.br/2018/
Florianópolis, SC, Brazil.
==========================================================
The WAVE2 is a joint organization of the Special Commission on
Informatics in Education of the Brazilian Society of Computing
(SBC) and the Brazilian Association of Distance Education (ABED).
With it, they aim to bring together world-class research that
addresses, with a high standard of quality, issues relevant to
open education and Brazilian distance in order to effectively
contribute to the advancement of international knowledge about the
themes and their impact on Brazilian practice.
Considering the transdisciplinary nature of the phenomena of open
and distance education, the two scientific societies understand
that collaboration between researchers from related communities
progressively improve research on aspects related to
technology-mediated education.
This year, WAVE2 2018 will take place in Florianópolis, Santa
Catarina, Brazil. Its organization will be shared with the
Cognitive Sciences and Educational Technologies Group (CCTE), at
the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE).
Target audience to the workshop brings together educational
researchers, technologists and experts in an multidisciplinary
forum to collaboratively define the various skills, methods,
techniques, processes and frameworks needed for fostering the
adoption of learning design and thus to stimulate targeted
research.

English is the language of the conference and of all submissions.
There are only two formats:
- Research paper (full paper)
- Research-in-progress (short paper)
- Plenary Lectures
Authors interested that their article is considered for a later
publication of the highlighted works must present their works in
English. All submissions must be written in English and contain
author names, affiliations, and email addresses. Submissions
should follow the standard SBC format (Microsoft Word and LaTeX
templates are available at) and submitted via SBC JEMS
(
https://submissoes.sbc.org.br/wave2018)
All proposals for articles must be anonymous, not containing the
name of the author(s) or institution(s) of the author(s). These
data should be reported only in the online submission form. We
invite proposals of the following kind addressing conference
themes:
- Research paper (full paper)
- Research-in-progress (short paper)
- Plenary Lectures
Papers presented in the Research report category (full paper)
should show results with substantial progress in empirical or
theoretical research, ongoing projects, discussions on the state
of the art, relevant aspects, case studies, implemented
experiments, methodologies, innovations and other products that to
foster the academic discussion of WAVE2's areas and lines of work.
Each individual paper proposal should take the form of a Research
report (full paper) of up to 8 pages maximum (including
