Casa Marina Resort and Beach Club Key West, Florida May 7-9, 2007 ________________________________________________ FLAIRS-2007 Conference web site: http://www.cise.ufl.edu/~ddd/FLAIRS/flairs2007/ ________________________________________________ Call for Papers The Machine Learning track at FLAIRS-2007 is intended to provide an international forum for discussing the latest results in the area of Machine Learning (ML). It will be organized within the framework of the FLAIRS conference that traditionally brings together researchers and practitioners from a wide range of AI related areas. As a core AI topic, ML always responds to the general AI trends. The current AI developments related to Security, Extracting knowledge from the Web, and Bioinformatics are no exception. Accordingly the track will focus on modern ML approaches to Security, Web mining, and Bioinformatics. All traditional ML approaches will also be included.
Specifically we invite submissions that fall within the following topics: Abduction, Analogy, Agent learning, Applications of machine learning, Automated knowledge acquisition, Computational learning theory, Conceptual clustering, Ensemble learning, Explanation-based learning, Function approximation, Inductive logic programming, Instance-based learning, Instructable agents, Kernel methods and support vector machines, Learning from relational data, Learning for planning, Knowledge intensive learning, Machine learning of natural language, Machine learning for security, Mixed-initiative learning, Multi- agent learning, Multistrategy learning, Ontology learning, Reinforcement learning, Statistical approaches, Web mining.
Submission in the areas of Security, Web mining, Bioinformatics, and real-life applications of ML are especially encouraged. High quality papers in any other area of Machine Learning are also welcomed. Submission Guidelines Interested authors must submit an electronic PDF copy of their complete manuscript of no more than 6 pages by November 20, 2006. All submissions must be original work and not submitted concurrently to a journal or another conference. Authors should format their paper according to the AAAI guidelines. Papers must be submitted in PDF format through the online submission system. Authors should indicate the Machine Learning special track for their papers. Authors of accepted papers will be required to sign a form transferring copyright of their contribution to AAAI. An author of each accepted paper is required to register and attend FLAIRS, and present the paper. Conference Proceedings Papers will be refereed and all accepted papers will appear in the conference proceedings which will be published by AAAI Press. Select papers will receive best-paper awards.
