* Call for Workshops *
33rd International Conference on Conceptual Modeling
Last Week of October in Atlanta, GA, USA.
* Important Due Date: Workshop Proposals due 30 January
2014.
* Please email Proposals directly to the Workshop Chair:
Marta Indulska, The University of Queensland, Australia.
Email: m.indulska@business.uq.edu.au
* About the Conference
The International Conference on Conceptual Modeling is the
leading international forum for presenting and discussing
current research and applications in which the major
emphasis is on conceptual modeling. Topics of interest
span the entire spectrum of conceptual modeling including
research and practice in areas such as theories of
concepts and ontologies underlying conceptual modeling,
methods and tools for developing and communicating
conceptual models, and techniques for transforming
conceptual models into effective implementations.
* Workshops
ER 2014 will host a number of workshops addressing
different areas related to conceptual modeling that
complement the main ER 2014 conference. Workshops are
intended to serve as an intensive collaborative forum for
exchanging innovative ideas in conceptual modeling. We
encourage prospective workshop organizers to submit
proposals for highly interactive workshops focusing on
either in-depth analysis or broad-ranging approaches to
emerging topics in conceptual modeling.
* Important Dates:
Workshop proposal submission: January 30th, 2014
Notification of acceptance: February 15, 2014 (Rolling
acceptances)
Full paper submission: will depend upon the workshop
Camera-ready paper submission: July 15, 2014
* Submission Guidelines:
A workshop proposal should be about 3-5 pages long and
contain the following information:
Title;
Topics of interest;
Format and duration;
Type (academic and/or industrial);
Significance in relation to topics of the main conference;
Organizers (attach short CVs, limit of 2 pages each,
pointing out experience in organizing events);
Proposed program committee;
Expected submission volume and number of expected
participants;
Please include any available information of previous
organization of the workshop you are proposing, with an
emphasis on submission and registration numbers. Workshop
proposals will be reviewed based on the quality of the
proposal, its relation to the main ER topics, the
likelihood to attract enough participants, as well as the
hosting capacity of the venue. Exact workshop paper
submission and author notification due dates are at the
discretion of workshop organizers but must fit within the
time-line indicated.
* Conference and Workshop Proceedings
Proceedings of all ER workshops will be published as a
single volume of Springer LNCS to be distributed at the ER
2014 conference. All the workshop papers should be limited
to no more than 10 pages in LNCS format. It is expected
that the organizers of ER workshops conform to the rules
imposed by the ER steering committee - specifically, the
acceptance rate for all workshops will not exceed 40% and
organizers are not allowed to submit papers to their own
workshop.
Workshop proposals should be submitted by email to the
workshop chair.
