International Journal of E-adoption (IJEA)

INTRODUCTION:
As the
power of the Internet becomes pervasive and related information
communication technologies mature, globally, researchers are striving
to understand their reach and impact on every sector, in every country.
Contemporaneous research on e-adoption, in varied sectors is still
nascent.
OBJECTIVE OF THE SPECIAL ISSUE:
The
special issue entitled “E-Adoption in Health and Governance” proposes
to explore and publish current research regarding e-adoption in the
health sector and in governance, across the globe. Leveraging ICTs and
the pervasive power of Internet and Web 2.0 in governance has become
common, may it be developed or developing nations. While citizen
participation and engagement is solicited in developed nations, the
developing nations wish to extend the reach of government to all
citizens. The special issue proposes to capture the current models,
frameworks, motivations and outcomes of e-adoption in governance of a
country, at multiple levels. Conversely, the Health Sector in many
countries have begun leveraging ICTs for better servicing its citizens
and improving overall quality of life. Some examples include e-health
initiatives, integrated Electronic Health Records, Knowledge
dissemination networks and public health surveillance frameworks.
Learning from health sector in one country may be able to benefit
