Special Issue of Information Systems Management on �Exploring the Frontiers of Knowledge Management Transfer in the Public and Private Sector�

You are cordially invited to submit an original manuscript for Information Systems Management�s special issue on �Exploring the Frontiers of Knowledge Management Transfer in the Public and Private Sector.�
The purpose of the issue is to advance our understanding of collaboration challenges within organizations and what needs to be done to bridge information technology gaps to successfully meet these challenges. Knowledge Management (KM) has matured as an area of research over a period of 40 years, being at the crossroads of a multitude of disciplines. This special issue attempts to provide a nexus of all these areas with particular reference to identifying outstanding �great challenges� such as adoption of KM philosophies and concepts as part of individual or organizational cultures, Eastern-Western and Northern-Southern interpretations of knowledge, and Development of Communities of Practice (CoP) as integrating and facilitating knowledge transfer.
We invite papers on all topics related to knowledge management transfer, but especially those that aim to provide a forum for exchanging research ideas and practices which bridge the organizational, sociological, technical, and individual aspects within business organizations, as well as those that discuss and analyze interdisciplinary aspects of KM, in terms of current practice, research, and conceptual development across academe and industry. Conceptual, empirical, case-based, and/or survey-based modes of research enquiry papers are welcomed, and the editors strongly support multidisciplinary research which can provide insights into the above research areas.
Instructions for Authors The ideal length of the submissions related to the themes discussed above is 7,500 words, but if justified, shorter and longer manuscripts will be considered. All submissions should follow the general guidelines of the journal as specified at www.tandf.co.uk/10580530. The manuscripts will be peer-reviewed according to the journal�s general policy; all reviews are double-blind.
Prospective authors are welcome to submit an abstract to Dr. Wafi Al-Karaghouli (wafi.alkaraghouli@brunel.ac.uk) for preliminary feedback on the appropriateness of their planned manuscript.
