The 1st International Workshop on Advancing Resilience in Enterprise Architecture and Decision Support Systems (AREADS) will be held on the 8th of June 2020 at the University Grenoble Alpes (UGA). The workshop is held in conjunction with the 32nd International Conference on Advanced Information Systems Engineering (CAiSE’20)http://caise20.imag.fr/index.html. Resilience is an emerging research topic that is receiving more attention from both scholars and practitioners due to increasingly complex and interconnected systems as well as dynamic environments of organisations and industries. Furthermore, resilience research spans multiple application areas such as cyber-security, logistics, healthcare, etc.. In this context, given the occurrence of a particular set of events, resilient management involves adaptive Enterprise Architectures (EA) and Decision Support Systems (DSS) enabling the movement beyond survival in the face of challenging circumstances. This means advancing systems towards a situation of quick recovery, impact mitigation and even prosperity.
The goal of this workshop is two-fold. On the one hand, it aims at providing a better understanding of how EAs can be designed, developed and maintained such that resilience is ensured. On the other hand, it seeks to enhance decision-making and planning by means of DSS for coping with undesirable events. Therefore, this implies understanding the main challenges, how EAs and strategies can be designed with resilience in mind, how to measure and optimize the recovery of systems and determine the best mitigation strategies from the design of EAs to the development and application of DSSs.

* Optimization approaches and real-world applications * Successful deployment of smart and resilient systems * Empirical material providing and assessing resilient approaches * Field experience providing details, benefits or challenges in resilience from design to implementation
**** GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION**** Submissions should contain original, significant and technically sound results which are unpublished and must not be under review elsewhere. The length of the submission should not exceed (a) 12 pages (including all text, figures, references and appendices) for full research papers, or (b) 6 pages for short papers. Submissions not conforming to the LNBIP format, exceeding the page limitation, or being obviously out of the scope of the workshop, will be rejected without review. A submission implies that the author(s) give their authorisation for publication and that at least one author will register and present the paper. Since the review process is double-blind, please make sure that your names and affiliations are not listed in the paper submitted for review! **** PUBLICATION **** For final (camera-ready) submission, authors will receive detailed instructions after the review and decision processes are completed. All papers from AREADS will be published in the Springer Lecture Notes in Business Information Processing (LNBIP).
