The 1st IEEE International Workshop on Distributed and Intelligent
Systems
DistInSys 2021
Athens, Greece, September 5-8, 2021
https://fcrlab.unime.it/calls/distinsys2021
in conjunction with the Twenty-Sixth IEEE Symposium on Computers
and Communications (IEEE ISCC)
=====================================================
The digital environment that we populate is becoming more complex
every day. Several devices are now connected to each other and to
the Internet, generating large data volume moved back and forth
between edge and data centers and processed everywhere. This
growth is not about to stop, and we have to be ready for
cutting-edge technologies when they become cheaper, such as
wearable and robotics.
The main solution is decomposing systems into smaller,
distributed, efficient, intelligent, and autonomous units
responsible for local decision-making and control, letting them
explore knowledge stored locally and communicate among themselves
only when needed. That solution opens issues when discussing the
systems design, data and knowledge exchange, analysis of proper
and optimal coupling of system parts as well as integration of
subsystems introducing a completely diverse nature into the
overall framework.
This workshop aims to collect original papers in the field of
distributed systems (i.e., distributed problem solving,
orchestration of data and services over Cloud and Edge Computing)
and intelligent systems (i.e., swarm intelligence, multi-agent
systems, and distributed artificial intelligence). Authors are
encouraged to contribute by presenting new studies, algorithms,
and use cases. Submitted papers must be original and not currently
be under review by another conference or journal.

PAPER SUBMISSION:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Authors are invited to submit full papers written in English, with
a paper length of up to six (6) printed pages for regular papers,
or up to four (4) printed pages for short papers, including
figures, tables & references in IEEE double-column format
(IEEE standard conference templates). Submissions should contain
original material and not be previously published nor currently
submitted for consideration elsewhere. All papers will be reviewed
for scientific quality by the Technical Program Committee.
Manuscript templates for IEEE conference proceedings can be found
at the following link
https://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html
All paper submissions must be made through EasyChair using the
following link:
[easychair.org/conferences/?conf=distinsys2021](
https://easychair.org/my/conference?conf=distinsys2021)
Paper submission implies the willingness of at least one author to
register at the regular rate (non-student) and present the paper.
The Workshop Proceedings will be part of the ISCC 2021
Proceedings, and they will be indexed SI, dblp, and Scopus and
will be submitted for inclusion in IEEE Xplore Digital Library.
BEST PAPER AWARD:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
A "Best Paper Award" Certificate will be conferred on the
author(s) of a paper presented at the workshop, selected by the
Chairs based on scientific significance, originality, and
outstanding technical quality of the paper, as also assessed by
the evaluations of the members of the Program Committee.
