Mini-Track: Exploring Human Cognition Surrounding Artificial
Intelligence Systems
We kindly invite you to submit your completed research and
Emergent Research Forum (ERF) papers to the mini-track: "Exploring
Human Cognition Surrounding Artificial Intelligence Systems". It's
under the "Cognitive Research in IS" track.
The use of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning is
occurring in a wide range of solutions and applications. While
algorithms are necessary for the development of an artificially
intelligent system, they are not sufficient. Understanding human
interaction with the system is the key to develop an AI system
that looks and behaves like humans. There is an enormous potential
for information systems researchers to contribute to this emerging
field. To help increase understanding about this topic, we invite
submission of research studying the cognitive aspects involved in
the interaction between humans and AI systems. We welcome a broad
range of empirical and conceptual work, drawing on a range of
research methods, including qualitative, quantitative, design
science research, and other relevant approaches.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
* The role of humans' cognitive processes in defining user
interaction with AI systems
* The effect of human cognitive processes and cultures on the
design of AI systems
* The formation of emotional attachments toward an AI system
* The association between AI systems on human's cognition and
information processing capability
* Theoretical framework for understanding the interactions and
relationships between human and AI systems
* Ethical issues surrounding the interaction between humans and AI
systems
* The role of AI systems in influencing human's performance
* The effect of human factors on machine's cognitive states
* Collaborative decision making between human and machine
* Human-centered design approach to artificial intelligence to
enhance decision-making
* The effect of AI systems on human creativity
* Using AI and machine learning to predict user behaviors
* Fairness, moral judgment, and AI
* The joint impact of humans and AI systems collaboration on job
performance
Paper must be submitted through the conference website:
https://amcis2020.aisconferences.org/submissions/call-for-papers/
Important dates:
* January 06, 2020: System opens for general paper submissions
* February 28, 2020: Deadline for paper submissions. AMCIS
manuscript submissions (completed research and Emergent Research
Forum (ERF)) closes for authors at 5:00 p.m. MST
* April 13, 2020: Notification of initial decision on submitted
papers
* April 22, 2020: Deadline for camera-ready revisions
