Indira Guzman and I are the co-chairs for the Advanced Students Doctoral Consortium this year in Cancun. We would be grateful if you would pass this message on any students, of whom you are aware, who might be interested in applying. If you are are an "advanced" doctoral student we invite you to apply!
The Advanced Students Doctoral Consortium is essentially for students who have completed their comps (or equivalent). Applications are now open and will close on May 15. Each student can expect detailed feedback on his or her individual research (either underway or planned) from experienced faculty and the opportunity to learn from a range of panels dealing with relevant topics for those moving into academia. The consortium has three primary objectives: - Provide networking opportunities for students with peers and faculty - Help students strategize about their research, teaching and career plans - Prepare students for the job market.
