=========================== CALL FOR WORKSHOP PROPOSALS
===========================
In conjunction with the 19th International Conference on
Intelligent User
Interfaces (IUI 2014) Haifa, Israel February 24-27, 2014
=================================================================================
IUI'2014 is pleased to invite proposals for workshops to be
held in conjunction
with the conference. The goal of the workshops is to
provide a venue for
presenting research on focused topics of interest and an
informal forum to
discuss research questions and challenges. Workshops will
be held on the first
day of the conference. We invite submissions of full-day (6
hours) and half-day
(3 hours) workshop proposals on any of the conference
topics. We encourage
proposals for a wide range of workshops, including but not
limited to:
- Working group meetings around a specific problem or
topic; such workshops may
wish to ask participants to submit a white paper or
position statement.
- Mini-conferences on specialized topics; such workshops
may have their own paper
submission and review processes.
- Mini-competitions or challenges around selected topics
with individual or team participation.

Additional guidelines:
-------------------------------
- Workshop proposals will be reviewed and evaluated by the
workshop chair and
the IUI 2014 conference and program committees.
- Publication: An extended abstract of the workshop will be
included in the ACM
Digital Library for IUI 2014. Workshop proposals and
workshop papers will not be
published in the ACM Digital Library. A single PDF
including all workshop papers
and notes will be published on the IUI 2014 web site.
- Cancellation: Workshops with fewer than 10 paper
submissions by December 23,
2013 may be cancelled.
Additionally, we strongly suggest to have organizers from
different
institutions, bringing different perspectives to the
workshop topic. We welcome
workshops with a creative structure that attracts various
types of contributions
and ensures rich interactions.
The organizers of accepted workshops are responsible for
producing a call for
participation and additional publicity such as distributing
the call to relevant
newsgroups and electronic mailing lists, and especially to
potential audiences
from outside the IUI conference community. Organizers must
maintain their own
web site with updated information about the workshop. The
workshop organizers
coordinate the paper collection, production, and
distribution of the working
notes for the workshops. This should be result in a single
PDF with the workshop
material to allow inclusion in the IUI 2014 web site. The
organisers should also
produce an extended abstract which is a description of the
workshop intended for
publication in the IUI 2014 proceedings and may not exceed
four pages. It must
contain a summary of the workshop goals and an overview of
