Call for Papers Data Grids are addressing a lot of problems related to large data sets manipulation over wide computing networks, providing tools and services for exchanging, delivery, processing and managing huge amount of data. Data Grids are continuosly gaining much interest in several eScience contexts including for instance climate change, high energy physics, astrophysics, bioinformatics, etc. Since eScience applications involve huge amount of data which can be heterogeneous and geographically spread in nature, data grids play a crucial role in the current and future eInfrastructures and middleware solutions. A lot of open issues concerning data grids for eScience (heterogeneity, high autonomy and large-scale distribution of data resources, etc.) still need to be faced. Challenging requirements for data grids oriented architecture/infrastructure solutions in several eScience contexts include autonomy, quality of service, interoperability, scalability, fault-tolerance, security. The main purpose of this workshop is to bring researchers and practitioners to identify and explore open issues as well as discuss and propose novel data grid oriented solutions for eScience. The DaGreS workshop will provide a forum for free exchange of ideas and will be featured by invited talks and refereed paper presentations. Authors are invited to submit regular papers.

Submission procedure Papers reporting original and unpublished research results and experience are solicited. Papers will be selected based on their originality, timeliness, significance, relevance, and clarity of presentation. Accepted and presented papers will be published in the conference proceedings (ACM). Submitted papers should not exceed 15 double-spaced, single-column pages, including figures, tables, and references. Additional submission guidelines will be available on the conference web site. Submissions imply the willingness of at least one author to register, attend the conference, and present the paper. Workshop participants must pay the CF'09 conference registration fee. Each paper will be refereed by at least three independent reviewers. Paper submission indicates the intention of the author to present the paper at the DaGreS'09 workshop at CF'09. Please submit your paper by e-mail to sandro.fiore [at] unile.it (make sure that the subject of the e-mail says "DaGreS09 Submission").
