During two days, numerous : discussions have emerged, and we observed knowledge transfer from theory : to practice, from practice to theory, and between the various actors of : the requirements engineering domain. We would like to repeat this : excellent experience for year 2000 in a second edition of the : Requirements Engineering Process Workshop. <br> : <br> : <br> : <b>SCOPE of the WORKSHOP <br> : <br> : </b>Experience in developing systems has shown that an inadequate : understanding of system requirements is the most important cause of users : dissatisfaction and systems failure. This has led to the area of : requirements engineering. <br> : Requirements Engineering (RE) is the process of determining a complete, : correct and clear specification of a future software-intensive system : from the incomplete, inconsistent and ambiguous statements of need from : stakeholders as diverse as end-users, managers and domain experts. : Whereas conventional RE approaches focus on models and languages to : express system specifications, there has been a recent shift towards : Requirements Engineering Processes (REPs). The prevalent view is that : requirements emerge from a process of learning in which they are : elicited, prioritised, negotiated, evaluated and documented. Requirements : evolve with time. This necessitates managing requirement evolution and : aligning requirements to organisational changes. <br> : <br> : <b>TOPICS <br> : </b>The goal of the REP workshop is to improve our understanding of the : RE process. The objective is to advance understanding about how : techniques from these disciplines and others can improve and empower the : requirements engineering process in organisations. Submitted papers will be evaluated based on : originality, significance, and relevance to the workshop. However, the publishing and : registration processes are organised by the DEXA Workshops organization : committee (A.M. Tjoa, R.R. Wagner and Ala Zobaide). <br> : <br> : The publishing process will be performed by IEEE and the DEXA Workshops : organization committee. The camera ready papers must be sent : electronically by the beginning of May 2000. The instructions how to do : this and the exact format will be sent to all corresponding authors and : organisers by IEEE just in time. However, the IEEE formatting : instructions for last year's proceedings can be retrived in the REP'99 : web pages. <b>The camera ready papers are limited to 5 pages</b>, two : columns (i.e., <i>according the DEXA workshops organizers</i>, approx. : 5000 words; between 2000 and 3000 words in our experience). Each author : will be asked to sign a copyright form which will be sent to him/her by : IEEE. If the authors don't return the copyright form to IEEE, IEEE may : not<br> : publish the papers. <br> : <br> : Each participant, author and organiser of a DEXA workshop has to pay the : reduced DEXA registration fees (<b>ATS 5000</b>.-).
