*Research Achievement Awards*

*Technical Achievement Award*

The IEEE TEMS TC on Blockchain and DLT’s Technical Achievement Award
recognizes a researcher from either academia or industry who has
demonstrated significant and sustained contributions to blockchain and DLT,
as evidenced by the impact of his/her research throughout the individual’s
career. Measures of impact extend beyond number of publications, granted
patents, and citations, and should include evidence of real-world impact of
the blockchain and DLT community, as well as the broader society.

The nominee must be a member of both this TC and IEEE TEMS at the time of
nomination.

Award recipient will receive a plaque and a citation.



*Mid-Career Award*

The IEEE TEMS TC on Blockchain and DLT’s Mid-Career Award recognizes a
mid-career researcher from either academia or industry who has demonstrated
outstanding contributions to blockchain and DLT.

Emphasis will be given to the significance and impacts of the research work
led by the nominee, for example in terms of publications on blockchain and
DLT in premier conferences and/or journals, and/or grant patents relating
to blockchain and DLT, consistently for a period of at least ten (10) years.

The nominee must be a member of both this TC and IEEE TEMS at the time of
nomination.

Award recipient will receive a plaque and a citation.



*Early-Career Award*

The IEEE TEMS TC on Blockchain and DLT’s Early-Career Award recognizes a
mid-career researcher from either academia or industry who has demonstrated
outstanding contributions to blockchain and DLT.

Emphasis will be given to the significance and impacts of the research work
led by the nominee, for example in terms of publications on blockchain and
DLT in premier conferences and/or journals, and/or grant patents relating
to blockchain and DLT, consistently for a period of at least five (5) years.

The nominee must have received his/her Ph.D. no more than five years from
the time of the nomination deadline.

The nominee must be a member of both this TC and IEEE TEMS at the time of
nomination.

Award recipient will receive a plaque and a citation.





*Outstanding Ph.D. Dissertation/Thesis Award*

The IEEE TEMS TC on Blockchain and DLT’s Outstanding Ph.D.
Dissertation/Thesis Award recognizes outstanding Ph.D. dissertations, which
have contributed significantly to the advancement of theory and/or
applications in blockchain and DLT.

The nominee must have evidence of publications on blockchain and DLT in
premier conferences and/or journals, and/or grant patents relating to
blockchain and DLT.

The nominee must be IEEE Graduate Member, and an IEEE TEMS Member.

Award recipients will receive a plaque and a citation.



*Service Awards*



*Distinguished Leadership Award*

The IEEE TEMS TC on Blockchain and DLT’s Distinguished Leadership Award
recognizes an individual for his/her exemplary and substantive leadership
in supporting the IEEE blockchain and DLT community at the local, regional,
national, and/or international level(s).

The nominee must be a member of both this TC and IEEE TEMS at the time of
nomination.

Award recipients will receive a plaque and a framed certificate.



*Most Active Special Interest Group and Subcommittee Chair Award*

This award recognizes the contributions of an outstanding committee and
subcommittee chair for his/her service to the committee.

The nominee must be an IEEE TEMS Member, and chairing a special interest
group or subcommittee in the IEEE TEMS TC on Blockchain and DLT.

Award recipients will receive a plaque and a framed certificate.

*NOMINATION PROCESS*

Each nomination, co-sponsored by three or more individuals, including the
nominator, must include the following information:

- Proposed citation, up to 25 words
- Information of the nominator and sponsors (name, position, relation to
the nominee)
- Succinct description of no more than 500 words to describe the
nominee’s innovation/contribution in the respective category
- Statement of up to two pages* to support the nomination
- Curriculum vitae of the nominee (no more than ten pages*)

* Single column, of at least font size 10.

All nominations should be submitted via e-mail (with subject "Award
Nomination: IEEE TEMS TC Blockchain & DLT ") to Dr. Kim-Kwang Raymond Choo (
raymond.choo@fulbrightmail.org).

Do note that

- Self-nomination is not accepted
- A nominator / sponsor can nominate / sponsor at most three individuals
- Chair and members of the award committee are not eligible to nominate,
sponsor, or be nominated for any award in the year they serve

The nomination deadline is midnight of November 30, 2022.
