Abstract:
Major projects to support citizens in healthcare, government,
energy-savings, disability, and the like are in the research phases or
are underway. These efforts - in China, the U.S., Europe, and elsewhere
- aim to affect societal change through technical means, but with
suitable socialanalytic sensitivity and socio-technical understanding.
This workshop aims to bring together people from numerous countries and
societies to share architectures, designs, and findings so as to promote
these projects. While these projects are not just collaborative in
nature, collaboration and coordination play central roles in many of
these efforts. CSCW can not only learn from these efforts in the field
but CSCW’s research interests and findings can also help in return.
