Platforms and Innovative Marketplaces for Services
Submissions Due: February 28, 2022
With advances in Internet and mobile communications technology,
many markets for products and services have been transformed by
multi-sided, technology-enabled platforms. These platforms and
innovative marketplaces for services offer avenues for research
that has great academic and practical impacts. This special issue
of Service Science (
https://pubsonline.informs.org/journal/serv)
aims to expediently publish high-quality interdisciplinary
research across marketing, operations, information systems, and
other related areas that studies platform-based businesses,
especially service-related platforms. Topics of interest include,
but are not limited to, peer-to-peer product-sharing and services
platforms, crowdsourcing platforms, business-to-business
platforms, matching platforms, and crowdfunding platforms. We are
open to all research methodologies ranging from analytical and
empirical to behavioral and experimental.
