INFORSID 2018 - WORKSHOPS - DEADLINE EXTENSION : 2018, April 23rd
Nantes (France)28 - 31 May 2018
Information Systems for Digital Humanities
The aim of this workshop is to explore the contribution, purposes,
and limits of the use of information systems methods in digital
humanities. The workshop will bring together scholars from
different disciplines with a shared interest in the contribution
of information systems methods to digital humanities, in
particular in prosopographical research.
One aim of the workshop is to explore the relationship between the
fields of Information Systems and Digital Humanities. We call for
contributions which investigate:
(i)The application of information technology in the humanities.
Contributions are solicited on humanities computing, i.e. the
computer-based study of various humanities disciplines.
(ii)The ways to enhance information systems by interweaving
methods from the humanities. Contributions are solicited on
“humanities-enriched computing”, i.e. humanities approaches
towards various aspects of computing and IS.
A particular aim is to solicit contributions on prosopographical
information systems used in certain kinds of historical research
as well as in humanities. The workshop is thus designed as an
opportunity to discuss historiographical and methodological
approaches to the use of prosopography in humanities
We seek for original submissions that contribute novel approaches,
solutions, methods, languages, and applications on the following
topics (partial list):
•IS and Language
•IS and History
•IS and Art
•IS and Philosophy
•IS and Law
•IS using Humanities-based approaches
•Humanities-based approaches using IS
•Prosopographical approaches
•Prosopographical databases
•Case studies of IS for Humanities
•Case studies of Humanities for IS

appear in the workshop proceedings. Extended versions of accepted
papers will be invited for potential publication in Ingénierie des
