** 2016 Pre-ICIS SIGDSA/IFIP WG8.3 Symposium: Innovations in Data Analytics **

PUBLICATION OUTLETS: Symposium proceedings published on AIS eLibrary; High quality papers will be selected for fast-tracking to be published in the “*Journal of Decision Systems*” (http://www.tandfonline.com/toc/tjds20/current).

Several of the journal’s Senior and Associate Editors (Fred Adams, Gloria Phillips-Wren, Ciara Heavin and others) will be at the Symposium to provide their feedback to authors of selected papers.

 

SOCIAL EVENT: Saturday December 10 evening (Location, Keynote Speaker, and other details to follow)

 

OBJECTIVE: Bring together academic and industry experts and professionals who share a common passion for research and pedagogy innovations in the field of business analytics and decision support science.

 

This Symposium is a joint collaboration of the Association for Information Systems Special Interest Group on Decision Support and Analytics (SIGDSA) with International Federation for Information Processing Working Group 8.3: Decision Support Systems (IFIP WG8.3) and the University College Cork (UCC), Cork, Ireland.

 

The Symposium will feature:

 

--- Keynote speakers from the companies considered as the industry leaders in business analytics

--- Industry Panel on innovative analytics

--- Hands-on workshops

      1.      Big Data Analytics Technologies Workshop with Aster

      2.      Data Visualization Applications: From analysis to communication

--- Panel on “Curricula for Business Analytics”

--- Research papers in areas of data and business analytics

--- Pedagogy research that address innovations in the teaching practices of business analytics

--- High quality papers will be selected for fast-track publication to “*Journal of Decision Systems*”

--- Symposium proceedings will be published in the AIS eLibrary

--- Teradata University Network (TUN) sponsored SIGDSA Symposium Social & Reception on the evening of Saturday, Dec 10, 2016 to network with industry and academic movers and shakers in the business analytics field.
