In digitalen Ökosystemen
Angehängt finden Sie den vollständigen Call for Papers einschließlich
Matthias Knoll

ACM UMAP Workshop - HAAPIE 2022 CALL FOR PAPERS
The 7th International Workshop on Human Aspects in Adaptive and
Personalized Interactive Environments, in conjunction with the 30th ACM
Conference on User Modeling, Adaptation and Personalization (ACM UMAP
2022), ONSITE/ONLINE from Barcelona, Spain, 4-7 July 2022.
Full details are available online: http://haapie.cs.ucy.ac.cy
# IMPORTANT DATES
Submission deadline: 15 April 2022
Notification: 11 May 2022
Camera-ready: 18 May 2022
# MOTIVATION & GOALS
State-of-the-art approaches in adaptation and personalization research
consider user models that mostly maintain information regarding the
“traditional” user characteristics (i.e., experience, knowledge,
interests, context), and related contextual or technology aspects (i.e.,
displays, connectivity, processing power). While modeling these factors
has shown significant improvements and benefits to the end-users in
terms of user experience, there is an urgent need for a step change
signifying the further engagement into research that will produce more
holistic human-centered practices. The vision is to highlight the
“human-in-the-loop” approach considering intrinsic user characteristics
and abilities, like perceptual, personality, visual, cognitive and
emotional factors adhering the theories of individual differences.
Moreover, recent studies show the need for broadening the scope of
diversity parameters to include characteristics such as motivation,
self-actualization, and socio-cultural differences.
The overarching goal of HAAPIE 2022 is to bring together researchers and
practitioners working in areas of human aspects in adaptation and
personalization, and aims to:
- Explore state-of-the-art and new implicit and explicit methods and
techniques for modeling a broad range of human factors of users and
behaviors – both separately and in possible combinations (e.g.,
cognitive abilities and age; motivation and cultural differences);
- Explore personalization methods, computational intelligence
algorithms, recommendation models, and real-time paradigms that can
improve the efficiency and effectiveness of human-centered user tasks
and interventions;
- Compare challenges and experiences in different real world contexts
and applications (e.g., decision support, learning, wellbeing,
security), where a holistic view on human aspects is needed to provide a
positive user experience; and
- Identify theoretical and computational models for the design,
development and evaluation of human aspects in adaptation and
personalization.
The added value will be to shape new human-centered adaptive interactive
environments and personalized platforms that can contribute towards
viable long-term solutions.
# TOPICS OF INTEREST

Subject: [AISWorld] CFP - HICSS 2023 - Metaverse
Date: Tue, 5 Apr 2022 08:06:47 +0100

CALL FOR PAPERS - Metaverse
Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS-56), Maui,
Hawaii, January 3-6, 2023
http://www.hicss.org/
Metaverse minitrack, under the Organizational Systems and Technology track
The term “Metaverse” was first introduced in 1992 by the science fiction
writer Neal Stephenson in his novel “Snow Crash”. Metaverse is a
portmanteau consisting of “meta” (which means “beyond”), to capture the
development of a virtual world beyond the physical reality, and “verse”
(which refers to a back-formation from “universe”) to refer to a virtual
utopia. Second Life, a multimedia game, was launched in 2003 and was
considered as the most important application of Metaverse (or virtual
world) at the time. Despite the great attention that Second Life
attracted, Metaverse did not manage to create a critical mass possibly
due to the novelty of the technology at the time and its lack of
interoperability with other solutions.
Recently, the technological advancements in blockchain technology, the
evolution of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), the technological progress in
extended reality (virtual and augmented), the developments in other
scientific fields like Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the convergence
of all the above technologies have increased the popularity of
Metaverse. It is expected that a new generation of Internet will evolve
from Metaverse, built of technologies like extended reality, blockchain,
and others. The dynamic of Metaverse is huge with many experts
predicting that it will generate a multi-trillion market in the coming
years. Despite the opportunities and the advantages that Metaverse may
offer, there are many open challenges that need to be assessed and
addressed including social, legal, ethical, technical, and others.
For these reasons, it is important for academics to systematically
research this field at various levels. Conferences, with their fast
turnaround, play a key role in disseminating knowledge about Metaverse
due to the speed at which developments occur. This minitrack aims to
bridge a gap at HICSS and serve as a venue to share knowledge and
discuss the latest developments in Metaverse.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
· Open Metaverse
· Blockchain and Metaverse
· Non-Fungible Tokens and their impact on Metaverse
· Metaverse use cases
· Social, legal and ethical challenges of Metaverse
· Metaverse adoption and diffusion
· Virtual economies
· Metaverse interoperability
· Best Metaverse practices

CALL FOR PAPERS - Blockchain Cases and Innovations minitrack
Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS-56), Maui,
Hawaii, January 3-6, 2023
http://www.hicss.org/
Blockchain Cases and Innovations minitrack, under the Organizational
Systems and Technology track
Blockchain, the technology underlying cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, has
been receiving considerable attention in recent years, as new use cases
in the public and private sector have been identified. What started as a
solution to the double-spending problem in Bitcoin, is being explored as
the backbone technology in scenarios where a trusted third party (e.g.,
a notary or a bank) is normally required. Using this technology,
transactions are securely registered on a data structure (aka the
ledger) replicated across a network of peers that validate the entries
using a consensus mechanism. New records are cryptographically linked to
existing ones, rendering them virtually immutable. The resulting
auditability and transparency have been leveraged in proposing
innovative solutions to land registries, to stop the spread of conflict
diamonds, to fight the counterfeiting of medication, to make supply
chains less opaque, and, generally, to promote new financial services.
Additionally, blockchains can also store and enforce the execution of
algorithmic code know as smart contracts – pieces of code that are
executed automatically once predetermined conditions are met – further
reducing uncertainty and promoting confidence among stakeholders that
would not normally trust each other. Nevertheless, we are still in the
early days of blockchain adoption, compared by some to the introduction
of the World Wide Web itself. Then, as now, few if any could predict the
full extent of the disruptive innovations that would emerge fostered by
this emerging technology.
For these reasons, it is important for academics to systematically
research this field, at various levels. Conferences play a key role in
disseminating knowledge about Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT -
including blockchains) due to the speed at which developments occur. The
proposed minitrack had a considerable attendance in the past three
editions, with the audience also registering to get information on new
editions or other related developments.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
· Innovative uses of Blockchain technology
· Blockchain case studies, applications, and implementations
· Blockchain and privacy, security, and identity
· Blockchain and digital transformation
· Decentralized Finance (DeFi)
· Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs)
· Decentralized Applications
· Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC)
· Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs)
· Tokenization
· The social and organizational impact of blockchain
· Barriers and enablers in blockchain adoption
· Blockchain and business model innovation
· Regulatory frameworks for Blockchain
· Governance and Blockchain
· Verticals using Blockchain (financial, healthcare, energy,
transportation, others)
· Blockchain in e-government and public administration
· Blockchain and the Internet-of-Things
· Blockchain in education
· Blockchain in solving migration and refugee issues
· Blockchain-driven marketplaces
· Uses and challenges of smart contracts
· Technology and infrastructure issues in Blockchain

** Fast-Tracking opportunities to AIS Transactions on HCI are available
for strong research papers. **
As the Internet continues to transform the way we work, learn, and play,
the design of user interfaces remains of critical importance. The aim of
this mini-track is to provide a forum for HCI researchers to discuss a
broad range of issues related to the design of user interfaces.
Appropriate papers for the HCI mini-track may draw on a wide spectrum of
research methodologies including, but not limited to, behavioral methods
(e.g., case study, experimentation, survey, action research),
neurophysiological tools (e.g., fMRI, eye tracking, skin conductance
response, and input devices such as the computer mouse, touch screen and
typing dynamics), and design science approaches. Accordingly, papers may
draw on various reference disciplines to inform design, such as computer
science, information systems, consumer behavior, behavioral economics,
psychology, organizational sciences, and neuroscience. Moreover, papers
that help to bridge academic research and industry practice are welcome.
Given the diverse goals of this mini-track, there are many appropriate
topics; possible topics include, but are not limited to:
* Analysis, design, development, evaluation, and use of information systems
* Guidelines and standards for interface design
* Design of online choice architectures
* Web-based user interface design and evaluation

* Novel forms of authentication and authorization (e.g., using mousing
or typing dynamics)
* Using information and sensors to detect user states (e.g., emotion,
cognitive conflict) and create more intelligent interfaces
* The impact of interfaces on attitudes, emotion, perception, behavior,
productivity, and performance
* Impact of digital nudges on online judgment and decision making
* Impact of behavioral economics principles and website design
implementation on privacy and trust
