We welcome your submissions to three (3) exciting mini-tracks focusing
on different aspects of systems analysis and design - a core information
systems area. The Minitracks are:
Contemporary Issues in DevOps and Agile Development (SIGSAND) - It is
fair to say that agile methodologies - in some form or manner - have
been widely accepted in industry. We are farther along in our
understanding of various aspects of agile development, including but not
limited to its adoption, adaptation, scalability, social aspects,
project management, distributed development, and enterprise agility.
However, the emergence of new technologies, the increase in regulatory
requirements, and the enormous changes that have occurred in the
development landscape present opportunities for new areas of research.
For example, the advent of DevOps and its interplay with agile needs
more empirical investigation. Likewise, agile methodologies appear to be
a natural fit for AI/Business Analytics projects which needs further
exploration. This mini-track provides a forum for researchers to address
fundamental issues regarding DevOps and agile development practices as
well as contemporary topics raised by its widespread acceptance and use.

Innovations in SA&D Processes - The objective of this mini-track is to
bring together work on various organizational processes during the
typical development phases of systems and software. These include, but
are not limited to, innovations in organizational processes, work
process analysis, distributed teams, global aspects of team
collaboration, the balance between process and agile approaches, and
innovations in software development processes. Researchers can present
the technical, empirical, cognitive, pedagogical, theoretical, and
applied aspects of processes related to Systems Analysis and Design,
highlighting the continuing fundamental position of systems analysis and
design in the IS discipline. Papers may cover topics including
exploration and exploitation in software development, issues in managing

Smart Cities (Government, Districts, Communities & Regions) Track
Urban growth and natural and health disasters have introduced important
challenges in the urban context, pushing cities towards a mandatory
digital transition to a smart environment. In short, the transformation
of these communities has become a top priority for city governments and
communities and offers great promise for improved wellbeing and
prosperity. However, significant challenges have also arisen at the
complex intersection of technology and society. Prior research has
demonstrated that cities with greater digital maturity allow them to
develop more resilient service management systems and supply chains,
resulting in the emergence of cities that are more agile and adaptable.
In addition, smart communities, smart districts, smart cities, and
regions are needed to be proactive in adopting a citizen-centric lens to
serve the needs of their residents and improve city resilience and
wellbeing of denizens. Although the literature is rich in references to
smart cities and communities, it is less developed on the topic of why
smart districts and regions need to become smart. Further, the existing
literature is fragmented and dispersed among several areas of knowledge,
resulting in a lack of a multi-domain holistic view and a lack of
critical analysis about the strategies that different cities, districts,
and communities follow to become smarter.
Although there is not a one-size-fits-all solution to become smart
because it is context-dependent, mainly due to different levels of
pressures exerted on housing, energy, transportation, infrastructure,
and healthcare due to rapid urbanisation and ageing populations, having
a holistic and common approach for achieving could be considered
fundamental to guide decision-makers in the digital transformation of
societies.
Emergent and disruptive technologies like Artificial Intelligence,
blockchain, chatbots, open data, Internet of Things, or clean
technologies are opening new avenues to become smart and are at the
forefront of smart projects to improve city sustainability and
resilience. All of them are being integrated into city administration
and community management, information integration, data quality, privacy
and security, institutional arrangements, and citizen participation -
which are just some of the issues that need greater attention to make a
community smarter today and in the near future. Smart services can also
make our cities better, but as digital technology and transformation
evolve there are challenges as well as opportunities for both citizens
and stakeholders. At the same time, these new technologies also bring
big challenges with their adoption such as the digital divide, privacy,
and security issues.
This track aims at exploring these issues, paying particular attention
to the challenges faced by smart cities, smart districts, and smart
communities as well as to the impact of these initiatives on sustainable
living. It also aims at focusing on the orchestrated interplay and
balance of smart governance practices, smart public administration,
smart communities, smart districts, smart resources, and talent leverage
in urban, rural, and regional spaces facilitated by novel uses of ICT
and other technologies.
As a result, areas of focus and interest to this track include, but are
not limited, to the following topics:
Smart governance as the foundation to creating smart urban and regional
spaces (elements, prerequisites, and principles of smart governance)
Smart government (focal areas, current practices, cases, and potential
pitfalls)
Smart partnerships and smart communities (triple/quadruple helix,
public-private partnerships, and citizen participation)
Smart cities, smart districts, smart communities, and regions (cases,
indicators, assessment, rankings, comparisons, and critical success factors)
Collective intelligence for smart cities and communities (smart ideas
and solutions for smart cities)
Emerging and disruptive technologies in smart communities (big data,
open data, data analytics, social media, and networks, Blockchain
technologies, etc.)
AI and IoT as an enabler for Smart Communities/Smart Cities
(infrastructure, transportation, citizen participation, education,
governance, environment, health care, safety, security, and energy)
AI in smart city design, urban planning, and intelligent infrastructure
operation
Integrative research that addresses the technological and social
dimensions of smart and connected communities
Smart homes, intelligent home automation systems, domotics pros and cons

and clean individual and public mobility)
Smart law enforcement theory and practice
Smart devices and their novel use in public management and public
service delivery
Smart (technology-facilitated) practices such as payment systems,
identification systems, etc.
New cybersecurity risks and vulnerabilities in smart technologies
SMART as a public-sector planning and management principle (Specific,
Measurable, Action-oriented, Results-based, and Time-bound)
Smart university, smart classrooms, and smart delivery of
education-related services
Quality of life issues in smart cities and smart communities
Urban-rural gaps in smart communities, digital divides, and
socio-economic disparities

detailed description on the submission process for both tracks is provided
at: https://conf.researchr.org/track/models-2022/models-2022-technical-track
**** FOUNDATIONS TRACK ****
We invite authors to submit high quality contributions describing
significant, original, and unpublished results in the following
categories:
1. Technical Papers
Technical papers should describe innovative research in modeling or
model-driven engineering activities. Papers in this submission category
should describe a novel contribution to the field and should carefully
support claims of novelty with citations to the relevant literature.
Evaluation Criteria:
Technical papers are evaluated on the basis of originality, soundness,
relevance, importance of contribution, strength of validation, quality
of presentation and appropriate comparison to related work. Where a
submission builds upon previous work of the author(s), the novelty of
the new contribution must be described clearly with respect to the
previous work. Technical papers need to discuss clearly how the results
were validated (e.g., formal proofs, controlled experiments, rigorous
case studies, or simulations). Authors are strongly encouraged to make
the artifacts used for the evaluation publicly accessible, e.g., through
a Github repository or an alternative that is likely to remain
available. There will be an artifact evaluation process, as discussed
below.
2. New Ideas and Vision Papers
We solicit short papers that present new ideas and visions. Such papers
may describe new, non-conventional model-driven engineering research
positions or approaches that depart from standard practice. They can
describe well-defined research ideas that are at an early stage of
investigation. They could also provide new evidence that common wisdom
should be challenged, present new unifying theories about existing
modeling research that provides novel insight or that can lead to the
development of new technologies or approaches, or apply modeling
technology to radically new application areas.
Evaluation Criteria:
New ideas and vision papers will be assessed primarily on their level of
originality and potential for impact on the field in terms of promoting
innovative thinking. Hence, inadequacies in the state-of-the-art and the
pertinence, correctness, and impact of the idea/vision must be described
clearly, even though the new idea need not be fully worked out, and a
fully detailed roadmap need not be presented. Authors are strongly
encouraged
to make the artifacts used for the evaluation publicly accessible, e.g.,
through
a Github repository or an alternative that is likely to remain available.
There will be an artifact evaluation process, as discussed below.
**** PRACTICE AND INNOVATION TRACK
The goal of the Practice and Innovation (P&I) Track is to fill the gap
between foundational research in model-based engineering (MBE) and
industrial needs. We invite authors from academia and/or industry to submit
original contributions reporting on the development of innovative MBE
solutions in industries, public sector, or open-source settings, as well as
innovative application of MBE in such contexts. Examples include:
-
Scalable and cost-effective methodologies and tools
-
Industrial case studies with valuable lessons learned
-
Experience reports providing novel insights
Each paper should provide clear take-away value by describing the context
of a problem of practical importance, and the application of MBE that leads
to a solution. A non-exclusive list of topics of interest is provided here.
Evaluation Criteria:
A paper in the P&I Track will be evaluated mainly from its practical
take-away and the potential impact of the findings. More specifically,
-
The paper should discuss why the solution to the problem is innovative
(e.g., in terms of advancing the state-of-practice), effective, and/or
efficient, and what likely practical impact it has or will have;
-
The paper should provide a concise explanation of approaches,
techniques, methodologies and tools employed;
-
The paper should explain best practices that emerged, tools developed,
and/or software processes involved.
-
Studies reporting on negative findings must provide a thorough
discussion of the potential causes of failure, and ideally a perspective on
how to solve them.
-
Authors are encouraged to make the artifacts publicly accessible, e.g.,
through a Github repository or an alternative that is likely to remain
available. There will be an optional artifact evaluation process, as
discussed below.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
**** Artefact Evaluation
After the notification, the authors of accepted papers will be invited to
submit their accompanying artifacts (e.g., software, datasets, proofs) to
the Artifact Evaluation track to be evaluated by the Artifact Evaluation
Committee. Participation in the Artifact Evaluation process is optional and
does not affect the final decision regarding the acceptance of papers.
Papers that successfully go through the Artifact Evaluation process will be
rewarded with a seal of approval included in the papers.
**** Special Issue in SoSyM
Authors of best papers from the conference will be invited to revise and
submit extended versions of their papers for publication in the Journal of
Software and Systems Modeling.

The Workshop on Requirements Engineering 2022 is now in its
twentieth-fifth edition (Silver Jubilee!). This series of workshops on
the area started in 1998 as a meeting of the Ibero-American requirements
engineering community. However, since then, it has attracted attention
from researchers and practitioners from other parts of the world. The
WER format promotes discussion and knowledge exchange between the
academy and industry members. As in the last editions, this one will
also feature invited lectures from well-known researchers and
practitioners and tutorials. This edition will introduce a track for
journal manuscript presentations. WER 2022 invites authors of papers on
the topics of interest of the conference and accepted in journals to
present their research at WER. This is an opportunity for the authors to
discuss their work in order to obtain feedback and improve their research.
TOPICS OF INTEREST
- Requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation, management,
traceability, prioritization, validation, verification, and negotiation;
- Requirements engineering education and training;
- Requirements engineering for specific software development paradigms,

CALL FOR PAPERS:
Adoption and Diffusion of IT (SIG-ADIT)
Americas Conference on Information Systems
(AMCIS)
Minneapolis, Minnesota,
USA August 10-14, 2022
https://amcis2022.aisconferences.org/
Dear Colleagues,
SIG-ADIT invites your submissions to its track at AMCIS 2022. This track
seeks to be a forum for high-quality research that theoretically and/or
practically provide valuable insights into the issues related to the
adoption and diffusion of digital innovations and technologies at all
levels of analysis and their bright and dark consequences. This includes
the application of all types of research methodologies.
High quality and relevant papers accepted in SIG-ADIT track will be
selected for fast-track journal publication opportunity in Internet
Research. Internet Research
(https://www.emeraldgrouppublishing.com/journal/intr) is indexed and
abstracted in major databases (e.g., SSCI, SCI, ABI/INFORM Global), with
the impact factor of 6.773 and the five-year impact factor of 7.089.
This year, SIG-ADIT track offers the following minitracks.
Adoption and Use of Immersive Systems
Immersive systems can enhance the user’s perception of reality and alter
their behavior and IT use. The immersive system has been widely used in
various practice, such as digital learning, organizational training,
digital marketing, fitness technology, and computer/video games. The
immersive technology includes such categories as virtual reality (VR),
augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (VR/AR), and interactive
storytelling et al. To better understand the role of immersive system
and technology in IT use and adoption, this track sets out to invite
high quality research on immersive systems. We welcome research using a
variety of methodologies, and at any level of analysis, such as
quantitative method (experimentation, survey, and analysis with
observational data etc.), case study, theory development, and design
science etc.
Minitrack Chairs:
Qiqi Jiang, qj.digi(a)cbs.dk
Chih-Hung Peng, chpeng(a)nccu.edu.tw
Aseem Pahuja, aseempahuja.amcis2022(a)gmail.com
Emerging IT design and adoption
User experiences with emerging information technologies (IT), such as
blockchains and artificial intelligence (AI), depend on their designs.
The designs, however, may not turn out to have the exact effects as
expected. For example, features related to utility and privacy may be
contradictory to each other. Currently, there is a lag between academic
research and industrial practice. It is expected that theoretical
discussions and empirical studies may yield deeper insights and provide
theoretical and practical guidelines. We solicit expositions and
investigations of both qualitative and quantitative natures. Analyses at
different levels (individual, group, organizational, societal, and
cultural) using a variety of methods (e.g., survey, case study,
ethnography, big data analysis etc.) are all welcome. Topics to be
discussed include, but are not limited to, the design and adoption of
AI-based systems, blockchain applications, Internet of Things (IoT),
cloud computing, big data, virtual reality, social platforms, enterprise
systems, and so on.
Minitrack Chairs:
Jun Sun, jun.sun(a)utrgv.edu
Zhaojun Yang, zhaojunyang(a)xidian.edu.cn
Ying Wang, ying.wang01(a)utrgv.edu
Adoption and Use of Ambivalent Information Technologies
Ambivalent Information Technologies (IT) are perceived as having the
potential to both benefit and harm users and organizations, rendering
them a double-edged sword. Ambivalent IT comprises a wide range of IT
that we use today; some examples include smartphones that can be both
beneficial and harmful for the users, work emails that despite their
flexibility and connectivity benefits can be interruptive for the work,
and security software or access control tools with benefits that can
come at the cost of security and privacy intrusions. As a result,
adaptors and users can have mixed attitudes toward ambivalent IT.
Currently, there is a paucity of research in the IS literature for this
up-and-coming research area. This minitrack provides a forum for the
exchange of research ideas regarding the antecedents, processes, and
issues related to adoption and use of ambivalent IT and their potential
impacts for users, organizations, and the society.
Minitrack Chairs:
Isaac Vaghefi, isaac.vaghefi(a)baruch.cuny.edu
