Track: Business Analytics and Big Data
(http://www.ecis2021.com/tracks-description)
*Track Description*
Technological advancements have contributed to the generation of massive
amounts of data that unleash huge opportunities not only for
organizations but also for society. The application of business
analytics, business intelligence, and big data approaches enables us to
integrate, analyse, visualize, and ultimately understand and improve the
complex processes that make up our digitized world. Such approaches are
enablers for knowledge discovery transforming societies and
organizations. Over the past few years, there has been enthusiasm around
business analytics as organizations explore how they can leverage their
data to create and maintain a competitive advantage. Improved
communication, more sustainable processes, as well as new business
models are examples for the innovative use of disparate data sources
(such as mobile, the Internet of Things, streaming data or social media
data).
In addition to the potential of transforming businesses, business
analytics, business intelligence and big data can contribute to better
human health and well-being, improved public services, and better
support of environmental and climate causes. The datafication of our
society can help the drive towards solutions that safeguard and promote
human values by creating empowered societies through the use of data,
building digital bridges, and maintaining sustainable and inclusive
societies among others.
Motivated by the explosion of interest in these emerging fields, the
present track aims to promote multidisciplinary contributions dealing
with socio-economic, organizational, technological, cultural, and
societal perspectives. We call for submissions based on quantitative and
qualitative work, theoretical research, design research, action
research, or behavioral research. Furthermore, we encourage papers with
outcomes that demonstrate the organizational impact of business
analytics and big data in terms of competitive performance,
innovativeness, increased agility, and market capitalizing competence.
In particular, we welcome papers that discuss and expand our
understanding of how the use of business analytics and big data is
impacting fundamental human values and society at a larger scale. Please
note that papers solely dealing with AI and machine learning algorithms
are not the focus of this track.
Suggested topics include, but are not limited to:
* The role of business intelligence, business analytics, and big data
for new horizons in digitally united societies
* Individual and societal empowerment through business analytics and big
data
* Emerging and changing concepts and methodologies for business
analytics and big data
* Strategic and change management issues stemming from business
analytics and big data
* Business value of business analytics and big data
* Adoption, routinization, maturity, use, and innovative applications of
business analytics and big data
* Data privacy, data quality, and data governance

*Scope
* WorldCist'21 - 9th World Conference on Information Systems and
Technologies, to be held in Terceira Island, Azores, Portugal, 30-31
March to 1-2 April 2021,
is a global forum for researchers and practitioners to present and
discuss the most recent innovations, trends, results, experiences and
concerns in the several perspectives of Information Systems and
Technologies.
The 1st Workshop on Code Quality and Security (CQS 2021) focus on the
emergent new paradigms, technologies and challenges for programming on
software development.
Being essencialy a manual process, and considring that there are
specific guidelines for software analysis, modelling, and even team
management, the code quality and security is ignored by most developers.
In this workshop we will deal with this problem in different ways,
intending to answer to the following questions:
1) Code Standards: how code should be written, what idioms to use, how
to comment and how to document code. What standards are available, and
what tools can be used to perform validation?
2) Code Security: the different aspects a developer needs to take
attention to when developing an application in order to make it secure.
What tools are available to check for possible implementation flaws?
3) Code Quality: how to guarantee the software does what it is intended
to? How to test software? What test frameworks and approaches are available?
4) Code Certification: what different types of certification is
available for applications? What means to certify an application? What
levels of certification are available? What applications can be used in
a particular domain, for instance, in Health industry?
5) Code organization: how to structure code? modules, libraries,
components? How to deploy? How to maintain code? Containers and dockers
6) Coding strategies: strategies to cooperate in programming, in
contexts of physical distance requirement? freelancers quality
monitoring? management of the quality of the project?
*Topics of interest:*
· Code generation and automation development tools
· Code quality assessment, static and dynamic code analysis
· Techniques for code quality: unit testing, test-based
development, feature driven development.
· Code standards and legibility metrics

Call for Papers: 2020 HITS- Health Information Technology Symposium
(Formerly the SIG-Health Pre-ICIS Workshop)
An AIS SIG-Health Sponsored Workshop
December 15, 2020, Online
HITS (formerly the SIG-Health Pre-ICIS Workshop) is a pre-conference
activity of the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS)
hosted by the Special Interest Group Health IT (SIGHEALTH). It provides
a forum for those working on information technology in the context of
healthcare. We welcome both research-in-progress and completed work on a
broad range of topics and methodologies. Authors do not have to be
SIG-Health members to participate. Please note that papers do not need
to be specific to the conference theme. Any paper on health IT is
acceptable.
The papers will not be included in conference proceedings and so authors
retain all copyrights to their work. However, accepted papers will be
listed with author names, affiliations and title on the AIS SIG-Health
website. Authors will have the option to include their final extended
abstract on the website as well.
The workshop is typically restricted to 40 participants and will include
presentations and round-table discussions. All submitted work will be
reviewed by the co-chairs and other workshop authors. All accepted
papers will then be presented and discussed during round-table
discussions to provide authors with help, feedback, suggestions, and to
facilitate future collaborations. We will have 3-5 authors per table to
facilitate discussion.
The paper with highest review scores may be presented to all workshop
attendees. The interactive format of the workshop is geared towards
providing a high degree of feedback to authors with promising
early-stage work, but is certainly open to developed and completed
research as well.
Workshop Registration Fees: TBD
Submission Instructions
We will request extended abstracts for presentation at the workshop.
Papers must be in English, and need to contain original research.
Submit your work at https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=hits2020.
Create a single pdf file containing an extended abstract that is no
longer than six pages (blinded, 11-pt font, one-inch margins on four
sides, double-spaced).
Please note the extended abstract format of this workshop. Manuscripts
which fail to comply with the formatting requirements will likely be
rejected. Do not send full length papers. This workshop is designed to
given authors of papers at many stages of development timely feedback,
therefore authors need to adhere to the format guidelines to facilitate
a timely review process.
Also note: 1) By submitting, the author team agrees to perform two
reviews of other abstracts submitted to the workshop and we have a quick
. This is done to ensure each manuscript gets at minimum two reviews. 2)
we do not hold copyright, but we do produce an informal proceedings to
facilitate discussion at the workshop.
Important Dates
* Deadline for workshop submissions: Friday, November 7 2020.
* Deadline for reviews: Friday November 23, 2020
* Notification of Acceptance: Monday November 26, 2020 (target date)
