Minitrack 7: Social Media and Network Analytics
Online social networks (OSN) differ from traditional offline social
networks in structure and content. Online content (e.g., online reviews,
eWOM via tweets, likes) that differ in nature, frequency, reach,
propagation speed, etc., by orders of magnitude, can be continuously
captured at the finest level of granularity. Unstructured data in the form
of text and emoticons communicated over OSN provides a lean yet in many
ways unique and emotionally rich means of communication that has the
potential to influence message receivers (consumers, colleagues,
stakeholders, etc.). Such unstructured data in OSN presents research
challenges that go beyond sentiment analysis, and include nuanced aspects
such as uncertainty and specificity. Adoption of OSN affects behavior and
decision-making in unique ways. This minitrack invites original research on
the use of analytical techniques and theories of social network analysis to
understand social influence, behavior, and decision-making, data models,
network structure and information diffusion, and social network analysis.
Topics may include the following:
– Emerging architecture for scalable social media analytics
– Online social networks and geospatial analytics
– Communities structure discoveries such as profiling participants and
subgroups
– User sentiment analysis, opinion mining, and recommendation analysis
– Visual online social network analytics
– Use of theories to understand user communication patterns and behavior in
social media
– Network dynamics in the form of a population and structural effects
– Impact of online social networks on decision-making at individual and
organizational levels
– Influence of online social networks on markets
– Information privacy and security in online social networks

Dear colleagues,
Please consider submitting a position, idea or research paper or an
experience report to
The 7th International Workshop on Adaptive Case Management and other
non-workflow approaches to BPM (AdaptiveCM 2019), 2 September 2019
Attached to: BPM 2019 https://bpm2019.ai.wu.ac.at/
Full info on the event - see https://acm19.wordpress.com/
Short overview - see below
==========================================================
Goals
-----
While practitioners are trying to overcome the restrictions of workflow
thinking, the research on the topic is somewhat lagging. The goal of
this workshop is to bring together researchers and practitioners to
discuss theoretical and practical problems and solutions in the area of
non-workflow based approaches to BPM in general, and Adaptive Case
Management (as a leading movement) in particular. This workshop is aimed
to promote new, non-traditional ways of modelling and controlling
business processes, the ones that promote and facilitate collaboration
and creativity in the frame of business processes.
Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
------
*Non-workflow process management:*
--Theoretical views on business processes not based on the workflow
--Non-workflow paradigms and process modeling methodologies
--Agile business process management
--Process management based on cooperation
--Non-prescriptive process specifications (e.g. constraint-based,
declarative, etc.)
--Teaching non-workflow approaches
*Adaptive Case Management:*
--Characteristics and application area for Adaptive Case Management (ACM)
--Comparative analysis of tools and applications that support ACM
--Process analysis in ACM
--Knowledge management for ACM
--ACM vs. BPM
--Empirical studies of Case Management Processes
--Level of automation achievable in ACM that does not convert ACM into
workflow
--Process improvement for case and adaptive case management
--Teaching non-workflow approaches
*Cognitive Science and Process Management:*
-- Decision making in ACM: cases, theories, best practices
-- Extending process models with decision models
-- DMN, Business Rules and other techniques
-- Cognitive models and process management-- Knowledge management for
process management

Subject: [AISWorld] CfP: 1st International Workshop on Agile
Transformation at XP2019
Date: Thu, 31 Jan 2019 21:06:16 +0000
From: Andreas Drechsler <andreas.drechsler(a)vuw.ac.nz>

Call for participation: 1st International Workshop on Agile
Transformation at XP2019, Montreal
Many organisations are adopting agile approaches, not only in their IT
department, but increasingly across the whole organisation. The process
of introducing agile practices in organisations is called an "agile
transformation". In a review article published in 2016, Dikert et al.
identify a number of challenges in agile transformations, such as
resistance to change, lack of investment (training, coaching, lack of
physical rearrangement to suit new ways of work), agile being "difficult
to implement", challenges with coordination across teams, and that
different approaches emerge in multi-team environments. The review
focuses on software development organisations although many of the
challenges identified are not necessarily specific to software
development. As organisations increasingly engage in agile
transformation processes, advice today is dominated by consultants and
from experience reports. Researchers have suggested to understand agile
transformation processes through sociotechnical theory, change
management theory and we believe that there are a number of other fields
to learn from to understand and improve the outcome of agile
transformation processes.
We would like to challenge the scientific community to identify what
should be of prime interest for researchers in this area, as there are
growing opportunities to study agile transformation as companies
increasingly adopt new large-scale agile frameworks. Organisations are
learning from agile practice to embrace agility in their ways of
working; agile practitioners can also benefit from the wider context of
organisations undergoing agile transformations, to understand the wider
implications of large-scale transformations and how to sustain them. We
will create a workshop to provide an interactive arena for knowledge
sharing and exchange of experiences between academics and practitioners.
We seek submissions in the form of lightning talks at the workshop.
Examples of areas of interest are: Experience reports on the
transformation process, how to sustain agile transformations, and
theoretical lenses to understand and frameworks to improve the outcome
of agile transformations.
We welcome suggestions for short talks for the workshop by 10 March
2019. Title and abstracts (maximum 300 words) of lightning talks for
workshop will be reviewed by at at least two members of program
committee. Submit at:
