Overview
-----------------------------------------------------------
During the last decade the promotion of news ways to teach and learn has
been dramatically influenced by the use of ICT. The increased levels of
flexibility and engagement provided by the intensive use of mobile and
ubiquitous ICT, social media, virtual and augmented reality has fostered
the adoption of new learning models in formal contexts. The impact of
ICT in learning in informal contexts is also very relevant due to the
increased presence of ICT in all aspects of our daily life. To better
represent the influence of ICT in lifelong learning, and in line with
authors such as Luciano Floridi, we may say that current ICT enable not
just online learning but actually onlife learning.
The development of the Internet of Things (IoT), or the Internet of
Everything, is paving the way to new generations of learning
applications and services, due to the expected increase in the capacity
of interaction IoT will provide. An intensively technologically mediated
territory increases the learning possibilities with strong potential
impact both in formal and informal contexts. This infrastructural
backbone supports the vision on Smart Cities by influencing and
improving key factors like mobility, environment, people, quality of
life and governance. In Smart Cities, learning is not only a way to
train an adequate human capital, but becomes one of the driving forces
of the “smartness” and well being of a community. Unavoidably the
underlying and ubiquitous techno-ecosystems - whose embedded
intelligence, sensitivity and responsiveness surround the individuals -
challenge the future of learning and call for a redefinition of spaces,
contents, processes, skills and assessment approaches.
The special issue of IxD&A aims at sharing research papers discussing
innovative opportunities and challenges on Smart City Learning.
Exploratory, case study and prototype evaluation papers are welcome.
The workshop and the special issue are supported by the Association for
Smart Learning Ecosystems and Regional Development (ASLERD)
http://www.mifav.uniroma2.it/inevent/events/sclo/index.php?s=219

Emerging Trends and Challenges in Business Process Management (ETCBPM)
WorldCIST 2016, March 22-24, Recife, Brazil
http://www.aisti.eu/worldcist16/index.php/workshops/etcbpm
Scope
Business Process Management (BPM), as a field of both research and practice,
has been maturing and increasing its span. However, more than improvement,
we need to foster true innovation in business processes that should be
increasingly adaptive, flexible and generative rather than structured,
formalized and stable. That will require BPM to take advantage of recent
breakthroughs in business intelligence, knowledge management, big data,
cloud computing, social computing, internet of things or complex event
processing to name a few. Information Systems research can significantly
contribute to the future of BPM addressing both technical and organizational
issues.
Topics
This workshop explicitly encourages papers that report on novel applications
of concepts, theories and technologies that are of interest to IS scholars
reflecting emerging trends and challenges in business process management
research and practice.
We seek contributions in topics including but not limited to:
· Adaptive Case Management
· BPM and BI
· BPM and Cloud Computing
· BPM and Crowdsourcing
· Collective Adaptive Processes
· Complex Event Processing
· Human-centric Processes and Knowledge-intensive Processes
· Mobile Processes
· Process Data Warehousing
· Process Mining
· Process Simulation
· Processes in the Internet of Things and Wearable Devices
· Social BPM
· User-centric Aspects of BPM
Submission
Two types of papers can be submitted:
· Full paper: Finished or consolidated R&D works (10-page limit).

in English, must not have been published before, not be under review for any
other conference or publication and not include any information leading to
the authors identification. Therefore, the authors names, affiliations and
bibliographic references should not be included in the version for
evaluation by the Program Committee. This information should only be
included in the camera-ready version, saved in Word or Latex format and also
in PDF format. These files must be accompanied by the
<http://www.aisti.eu/worldcist16/copyright.pdf> Consent to Publication form
filled out, in a ZIP file, and uploaded at the conference management system.
Review Process
All papers will be subjected to a double-blind review by at least two
members of the Program Committee. Based on Program Committee evaluation, a
paper can be rejected or accepted by the Workshop Chairs. In the latter
case, it can be accepted as the type originally submitted or as another
type. Thus, full papers can be accepted as short papers.
Presentation
The authors of accepted full papers will have 15 minutes to present their
work; approximately 5 minutes of discussion will follow each presentation.
The authors of accepted short papers will have 11 minutes to present their
work; approximately 4 minutes of discussion will follow each presentation.
Publication
To ensure that a full paper or short paper is published in the Proceedings,
at least one of the authors must be fully registered by the 27th of December
2015, and the paper must comply with the suggested layout and page-limit.
Additionally, all recommended changes must be addressed by the authors
before they submit the camera-ready version.
No more than one paper per registration will be published in the Conference
Proceedings. An extra fee must be paid for publication of additional papers,
with a maximum of one additional paper per registration.
Indexing
Full and short papers will be published in Proceedings by Springer, in
<http://www.springer.com/series/11156> Advances in Intelligent Systems and
Computing Series and will be submitted for indexation by ISI, EI-Compendex,
SCOPUS and DBLP, among others, and will be available in the SpringerLink

Betreff: [AISWorld] CfP ECIS 2016 in Istanbul - Track "IS Governance
and Control"
Datum: Fri, 23 Oct 2015 20:15:58 +0000
Von: Wiener, Martin <MWIENER(a)bentley.edu>
An: aisworld(a)lists.aisnet.org <aisworld(a)lists.aisnet.org>
:: CALL FOR PAPERS ::
24th European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS)
June 12-15, 2016, Istanbul, Turkey
http://www.ecis2016.eu
Track: IS Governance and Control
http://www.ecis2016.eu/files/downloads/Tracks/T18.pdf
*** Deadline for Paper Submission: November 27th, 2015 ***
:: Track Description ::
The governance and control of information systems (IS) are key activities for deployment of information technology (IT) resources and ultimately for value creation through IT. They thus represent a key responsibility of IS leadership. In today’s environment, the changing nature of the IS infrastructure (e.g., bring your own device [BYOD], cloud computing) as well as the organization and sourcing of IS tasks and functions (e.g., backsourcing, crowdsourcing, open sourcing, outsourcing, offshoring) further increases the demand for effective IS governance and control. At the same time, it challenges existing conceptualizations and theories of IS governance/control. For instance, while cloud services may make the IT artifact seemingly disappear, the efforts of molding organizational routines, usage practices, and IT resources have not disappeared. IS outsourcing/offshoring arrangements span national borders, bridge organizational boundaries, and highlight the intersection of cultures. BYOD and crowdsourcing not only challenge organizational boundaries but also established ideas about ownership of resources, tasks, and outputs. On the other hand, where more “traditional” technologies and organizational arrangements are still dominant, such as for example with ERP packages, the challenges of exercising governance/control over development and implementation efforts remain highly important and complex.
The objective of this track is to foster and promote research on IS governance and control by offering new perspectives as well as by providing deeper, richer, and more nuanced insights, which enable IS practitioners to use IT resources more effectively. The track is open to all types of contributions including conceptual, theoretical, and empirical papers (completed research and research in progress) studying governance/control issues in different contexts, at different levels of analysis, and from different theoretical and stakeholder perspectives. We particularly welcome papers that address the conference theme “Information Systems as a Global Gateway” by focusing IS governance and control challenges at the intersection between technological, organizational, national, cultural, social, and other boundaries.
The track invites both completed research papers and research in progress papers.
*** JITTA Fast-Track Option ***
Selected papers will be invited for fast tracking at the Journal of Information Technology Theory and Application (JITTA). Where the authors choose to submit their paper to JITTA, expedited reviews and editor decisions can be expected.
:: Track Topics ::
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
· IS Governance: Governance structures, processes, and capabilities; governance of IS/IT architectures and platform ecosystems; new governance models for complex organizations; structure and nature of business-IT relationships; performance effects of IS governance choices; etc.
· IS Control: Control of different IS projects and processes (e.g., internal vs. outsourced, traditional vs. agile); control typologies and portfolios; dynamics of control; control in hierarchical vs. lateral controller-controllee relationships; intended vs. unintended (socio-emotional) consequences of control; etc.
· Link between IS Governance and Control: Impact of IS governance arrangements on IS control; project management office (PMO) governance, project portfolio management, and other arrangements that allow monitoring, control, and prioritization of IT resources and work between projects; roles and responsibilities of IS project and process stakeholders; etc.
· IS Leadership: Executive and board involvement in IS governance/control; distribution of power and decision rights; information flow between decision authorities; etc.
· IS Compliance: Interfaces between IS governance/control and IS compliance needs; risk management approaches for meeting regulatory requirements; the role of IS controls within internal and external audits; etc.
· Strategy Implementation: Translation of strategic objectives into governance/control practices and structures; governance frameworks for breaking strategic objectives into the particular IT and business units; etc.
· Organizational Design: Impact of design choices on governance/control effectiveness; relationship between IT and business architecture; control actions across hierarchical levels; etc.
· IS Business Value: Design of appropriate governance structures, processes and capabilities for managing the value of IT investments; value appropriation in intra- vs. interorganizational control relationships; etc.
· Sourcing Practices: Decisions and outcomes of various sourcing models including outsourcing, offshoring/nearshoring, crowdsourcing, open sourcing, sourcing in the cloud, shared services, and backsourcing; governance structures that produce sourcing decisions; contractual vs. relational governance; governance of vendor portfolios and multi-vendor strategies; client- vs. vendor-retained capabilities; etc.
· Novel theoretical perspectives and research approaches that broaden or challenge our understanding of IS governance and control.

TOPIC OF THE SPECIAL SESSION:
=============================
Living in the digital business era today, we are witnessing rapid social
and technological developments in electronic commerce, mobile commerce,
and no-line commerce. Especially the retailing industry is facing rapid
changes in consumer behavior and increasing shift towards online
commerce in an omni-channel setting. Digital business managers, as well
as system engineers, are daily confronted with the challenges resulting
from these rapid developments. Among others, designing innovative web,
social or mobile user interfaces, along with conversion optimization,
are major activities defining firms’ success potential.
But, consumers also demand to access different distribution channels by
various access technologies independently from their current location
even at-home, on-the-way, in-store or even automated. Such scenarios
where the consumers switch for example between shopping online at home,
via mobile device on the way, locally in a brick-and-mortar store or
even without any active interaction (automated) supported by
technologies and concepts of the internet of things (IoT, e.g.
intelligent refrigerator), are referred to as no-line commerce.
Understanding of user behavior and information needs on the one hand,
but also relevant concepts, processes, and technologies on the other
hand, is an inevitable precondition for designing and managing
successful businesses in the context of no-line commerce and innovation.
These challenges are collectively best characterized and addressed by
HCI in Business, Government and Organizations (HCIB).
Theoretical, empirical, and design science research papers are highly
welcome. We welcome papers applying different scientific methods,
including for instance qualitative research (e.g., case studies),
traditional behavioral experiments, and studies using physiological
measurement.
Your contributions should be related to the following indicative topics
and keywords, which outline the spectrum of issues to be addressed in
this special session in the context of HCI in Electronic Commerce,
Mobile Commerce and No-Line Commerce:
*User experience and usability in the context of electronic-, mobile-,
and no-line commerce
*Trust in commerce, mobile commerce, and no-line commerce and
implications on HCI
*Concepts and case-studies for HCI in electronic-, mobile-, and no-line
commerce
*Processes and Business Models related to electronic-, mobile-, and
no-line commerce and implications on Human Computer Interaction
*Usability studies based on physiological measurements (e.g.,
eye-tracking, skin conductance, heart rate, or ecg) in the context of
electronic-, mobile-, and no-line commerce
*Understanding of human behavior and understanding human information needs
*Concepts for open innovation and design thinking related to commerce
processes
*IT Architectures for electronic-, mobile-, and no-line commerce and
implications on HCI
*HCI relevant aspects for search engine optimization, web analytics,
information retrieval and opinion mining in the context of electronic-,
mobile-, and no-line commerce
*Smart Technologies and IT implication for HCI related to electronic-,
mobile-, and no-line commerce

General Information
-------------------
The 21st International Conference on Reliable Software Technologies
- Ada-Europe 2016 will take place in Pisa, Italy. Following its
traditional style, the conference will span a full week, including
a three-day technical program and vendor exhibition from Tuesday
to Thursday, along with parallel tutorials and workshops on Monday
and Friday.
The conference has over the years become a leading international
forum for providers, practitioners and researchers in reliable
software technologies. The conference presentations will illustrate
current work in the theory and practice of the design, development
and maintenance of long-lived, high-quality software systems for
a challenging variety of application domains. The program will
allow ample time for keynotes, Q&A sessions and discussions, and
social events. Participants include practitioners and researchers
representing industry, academia and government organizations active
in the promotion and development of reliable software technologies.
The Ada language, a reliable software technology by design, crosses
all topics of the conference, which nonetheless also welcomes any
other technologies proposed or in use for reliable software.
This edition of Ada-Europe also features a focused Special Session
on Safe, Predictable Parallel Software Technologies. Following the
intensifying trend of usage of Multi-/Many-core systems, it is
increasingly important to assess how reliable software technologies
need to adapt to these complex platforms, as well as how parallel
models need to adapt to domains in which safety and predictability
is a must.
Conference Proceedings will be published in the Lecture Notes in
Computer Science (LNCS) series by Springer. Selected papers of the
conference will be also invited for special issues of Springer's
