The 15th International Conference on Software Reuse (ICSR 2016)
June 5-7, 2016, St. Raphael Resort, Limassol, Cyprus
http://cyprusconferences.org/icsr2016/
For decades the International Conference on Software Reuse (ICSR) has been
the premier event in the field of software reuse research and technology. The
main goal of ICSR is to present the most recent advances and breakthroughs
in the area of software reuse and to promote an intensive and continuous
exchange among researchers and practitioners. The 15th International
Conference on Software Reuse (ICSR 2016) will be held on June 5-7 2016, in
Cyprus.
CALL FOR RESEARCH PAPERS
We invite submissions on new and innovative research results and industrial
experience reports in the area of software reuse. The guiding theme of
ICSR 2016 is:
Software reuse: bridging with social-awareness
Development online social networks are gaining ground lately with software
engineers participating in different fora collaborating and exchanging ideas
and expertise. Software reuse needs to utilize, but also strengthen, this new
form of synergies that can be built among engineers. ICSR special theme
aims to bring this aspect in software reuse by raising social-awareness,
strengthening the existing platforms and tools, and utilizing the vast
software information that exists in development social networks.
Amongst the numerous important challenges we identified the following
major topics for research focusing on reuse with social-awareness:
· Social network interactions between developers to support software reuse
· Utilization of online social development tools for software reuse
· Software reuse to enhance social-awareness
· Trust, security and semantic issues of social aspects of software reuse
Beyond those novel challenges for software reuse, we solicit submissions
dealing with all aspects of software reuse, including, but not limited to the
following ones:
· Domain analysis and modelling
· Asset search and retrieval
· Architecture-centric reuse approaches
· Component-based reuse
· Service-oriented architectures
· COTS-based development and reuse of open source assets
· Generative development
· Domain-specific languages
· Software composition and modularization
· Model-driven development
· Reengineering for reuse
· Software product line techniques
· Quality assurance for software reuse, such as testing and verification
· Reuse of non-code artifacts (process, experience, etc.)
· Economic models of reuse
· Benefit and risk analysis, scoping
· Legal and managerial aspects of reuse
· Transition to software reuse
· Industrial experience with reuse
· Light-weight reuse approaches
· Agile reuse
· Software evolution and reuse
· Reuse for mobile and ubiquitous applications
Paper Submission
Novel and well-founded work in the wider area of software reuse is highly
welcome. We look for strong research work which might have a strong
theoretical or empirical foundation. Theoretical work should in particular
provide innovative ideas and should be based on a sound theoretical basis.
Empirical work based on case studies, empirical research and experiments
is also highly welcome. Industrial submissions describing practical
experience are also strongly encouraged.
Submissions must conform to Springer's Lecture Notes in Computer Science
format, and are limited to 16 pages in length, in English. Short papers (up to
8 pages) are accepted as well and should be marked accordingly. You will be
able to submit your paper via Easychair. Each submission will be reviewed by
at least three members of the Program Committee. We plan to have a best
paper award for this conference, details will be announced in due time.
Accepted papers will be published in Springer's highly visible LNCS series
again. Please note that a full conference (i.e. not a student) registration is
required for a technical paper to be published.
Moreover, the prestigious Journal of Systems and Software will dedicate a
special issue on software reuse for which the authors of selected papers from
the conference will be invited to submit an extended version (containing at
least 30% new material). The CFP of the special issue can be found here:
http://www.journals.elsevier.com/journal-of-systems-and-software/call-for-p…
CALL FOR WORKSHOP PROPOSALS
ICSR 2016, the premier conference on software reuse, invites proposals for
one-day and half-day workshops to be hosted in conjunction with the
conference. Since software reuse is pervasive in all aspects of software
development, workshops on a variety of topics including, but not limited to
those listed above may be appropriate. Submissions in the area of the
conference's main topic will receive preferential treatment.
Workshop proposals are limited to 3 pages in length. The proposal should
include the following information:
· A title of the workshop

Conference Vision
Our current age has been framed by the concept of the âinformation
ageâ. Many long-standing societal, business and institutional systems
have either lost their relevance or have transformed beyond recognition.
Education does not stand untouched, frequently operating in unstable
economic and policy environments.
We look afresh and identify new models, approaches for education (OER,
MOOCs, PLEâs, Learning Analytics). For learners this has also been a
great leap - the networked learner is sharing voluntarily and for free,
spontaneously with billions of people.
In the new learning environments the core players and stakeholders â
learners, educators, government bodies, educational and learning
institutions - increasingly acknowledge the chance for constructive and
positive changes. Perhaps there are new business models, new policies,
different ways to understand technological influences, the networked
society â /*the learning environment, in its widest sense*/.
EDEN 25
We are proud, being a continuously strengthening and developing European
association in the field of open, distance and e-learning, learning
modernization and innovation, having reached our 25th Anniversary in 2016.
The historical perspective from the start has been conceived as a
dialogue between the experience and the imagination. Some celebration is
allowed, but what EDEN would like to use special occasion is combining
past and future in synchron with the concept of the anniversary
conference, to find out what has been important, worth of acknowledging
as mainstream and sustainable â created by our academic and
professional community.
Call for Contributions
We need renowned *reflections of practice* that support
*paradigm-changing transformations* based on systematic knowledge. The
responsibility of the scholarly community includes *widening the concept
of learning *and its role in society and *exploiting transformative
knowledge to drive social change*.
Join the Community in the exciting city of Budapest to share your
research, projects and practice at #EDEN16!
Networking and interactivity, sharing and discussion will be core
aspects of the conference experience, focusing on what you can learn
from and with your peers.
Submissions that relate to the Conference Scope and to the Conference
Themes are invited in the following formats: *paper*,*poster*,*workshop,
training, demonstration and synergy.*
The Conference Committee will double peer review all submissions.
Accepted contributions will be published in the electronic Conference
Proceedings and their summary in the Book of Abstracts.
Young Scholars Support
We are pleased to announce that EDEN's support scheme to young scholars
will be offered *again* at the 2016 Annual Conference. Two young
researchers' attendance at the Conference will be supported with â¬600
each. For application process see the guidelines
<http://www.eden-online.org/eden-events/annual-conferences/budapest2016.html…>.

Smart Business Ecosystems
No business is an island and competition is increasingly taking place
between business networks and no longer between individual companies.
Information technology has been an important enabler with systems for
enterprise resource planning, business intelligence or business process
management. Driven by new internet-based technologies, such as cloud,
mobile, social and ubiquitous computing as well as analytics and big
data, so-called smart infrastructures are emerging. From the business
side, they are conducive to new, more dynamic relationships between
companies, suppliers and customers, which have referred to as
ecosystems. Resources are crowdsourced as services via platforms that
yield new business knowledge and business processes. A variety of
aspects is relevant for designing and understanding smart business
ecosystems. They reach from new business models, value chains and
processes to all aspects of analytical, social and enterprise
applications and platforms as well as cyber-physical infrastructures.
The International Conference on Business Information Systems (BIS) is a
well-established and respected event (ranked "B" in the CORE ranking)
bringing together international researchers to discuss the wide range of
the development, implementation and application of information systems
and technology in business. It addresses the scientific community as
well as people involved in the development of business computer
applications, consultants helping to properly implement computer
technology and applications in the industry. All of these groups are
cordially invited to submit their original work to the research track of
BIS2016 and/or to the practitioner-oriented workshops.
