Call for Papers
============
Multikonferenz Wirtschaftsinformatik, 26.-28.02.2014 in Paderborn
Teilkonferenz: Cyber-Physische Systeme: Geschäftsmodelle, Dienste, IT-Architekturen
Einreichungsschluss: 15.09.2013
http://www.mkwi2014.de/Einreichungen
Inhalt
--------

CALL FOR PAPERS
Information Systems Frontiers (ISF)
Special Issue on Web of Things
As indicated by the inventor of the World Wide Web, Tim Berners-Lee, "it
isn't the documents which are actually interesting; it is the things
they are about!". The last level of abstraction for the Web is to
connect real things. Indeed, with the recent advances in radio-frequency
identification (RFID) technology, wireless sensor networks, and Web
services, the Web has emerged as the platform to connect billions of
physical objects, i.e., "Web of Things" (WoT). WoT offers the capability
of integrating the information from both the physical world and the
virtual one, which creates tremendous business opportunities such as
efficient supply chains, smart cities, and improved environmental
monitoring.
While it is widely understood that WoT offers exciting capabilities to
change the world and improve our life quality just as what the Web has
done in the past 20 years, WoT also presents significant challenges.
With billions of things interconnected and present over the Web, one
inevitable challenge in the new era of WoT lies in how to efficiently
and effectively manage things, which is critical for a number of
important applications such as object discovery (e.g., finding a quiet
restaurant), recommendation (e.g., suggesting a device that can consume
a video stream), and mashup (e.g., composing device functionalities for
a new service). In addition, massive volumes of real-time data ("big
data") will be produced by these connected things and their associated
sensors. Novel solutions are therefore required to effectively collect,
process, analyze, and mine this big data. These solutions need to
consider challenging issues of WoT data such as dynamicity, uncertainty,
and high dimensionality.
This special issue aims at presenting the latest developments, trends,
and research solutions of Web of Things. Topics of interests include,
but are not limited to:
* Things discovery in WoT
* Semantic services for WoT
* High dimensional data processing in WoT
* Cloud computing and WoT
* RFID, sensors, and WoT
* Scalable WoT architectures
* Information modeling for WoT
* Context-aware services in WoT
* Business and social models of WoT
* WoT testbeds
* WoT security and privacy
* WoT standardization
* WoT applications, deployments and use cases

SPECIAL ISSUE ON Electronic Business Interoperability: Moving Towards
Common Understanding of the E-Business Environment
International Journal of E-Business Research (IJEBR)
Guest Editor: Ejub Kajan
INTRODUCTION:
Since the advent of EDI, practitioners and researchers have longed for an
e-business environment where business transactions can be conducted in a
fair and open manner regardless of the origin and size of enterprises.
Despite many failures and disappointments, an overarching idea has stayed
alive: define, develop, and implement a fully interoperable e-business
framework that is able to overcome all existing heterogeneities and allow
for easy participation in e-business. However, the openness of such
environments are limited to the particular framework deployed, and
additionally may be decreased due to so called additional features that
vendors like to offer to get a larger slice of the market. In recent
years, many technological enablers, known as advanced Web technologies,
and Web x.0 as well as their mixture, have been developed and deployed in
e-commerce frameworks. Currently, a vision, concrete results that lead to
common understanding of the e-business environment where technologies are
deployed with full potential, and their intelligent combination are
necessary to meet full interoperability requirements.
OBJECTIVE OF THE SPECIAL ISSUE:
This special issue seeks to foster a scientific understanding of
e-business interoperability, forecast future trends in the area, and
provide a timely publication of current research efforts,. This special
issue is concerned not only with particular advanced technologies or their
mixture, but also with the conceptual frameworks, new business models and
business process modeling, and security issues.
RECOMMENDED TOPICS:
Topics to be discussed in this special issue include (but are not limited
to) the following:
* Conceptual frameworks for global e-business in terms of advanced
technologies
* Interoperability frameworks between end users (customers, citizens,
employees), enterprises and governments
* Influence of Web.2.0
* Achievements of Web service networks
* Web 3.0, issues, results, and challenges
* Towards Web intelligence for advanced E-Business
* Internet of Things and E-Business: concepts, opportunities, and
challenges
* Towards common understanding in E-Business (A2A, B2B, G2B, …)
* Business process modeling in (and for) new environments
* New business models influenced by recent technological achievements
* The impact of agent technologies on the common understanding of
E-Business
* Connecting together the power of several technologies

in PDF format and must not exceed 10 pages (incl. references and appendix).
Industry Track:
There are two paper formats: full length (ten pages) and short (four
pages). Full length papers should present significant achievements and
advances in industrial software testing, verification, or validation.
Papers with metrics that quantify effects on time, cost, and quality are
preferred. Short papers should concentrate on experience reports or
discuss open problems or challenges. The program committee will review
all submission. Accepted and presented contributions will be part of the
published conference proceedings. The evaluation criteria for industry
papers are based less on the originality of the technical contribution,
and more on its relevance for practice soundness of the presented
results, and implications for research. Practitioners can alternatively
submit to the Industrial Presentations track that does not require a
paper. Industry papers must conform to the two-column IEEE conference
publication format
(http://www.computer.org/portal/web/cscps/formatting), must be submitted
in pdf format and must not exceed 10 or 4 pages, respectively to
full-length papers or short papers (incl. references and appendix).

FOKUS
- IT Service Management und Data Center Operation
- Kollaboratives System-Monitoring und Sensor-Fusion

Betreff: [AISWorld] FINAL CALL: IT&M -- Special Issue on Information
Systems to Support Sustainable Consumption and Supply

Information Technology and
Management Special Issue on
Information Systems to Support Sustainable Consumption
and Sustainable Supply
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Responding to rising concerns about environmental sustainability,
governments around the world have committed to the promotion of more
sustainable consumption patterns. Mainstream approaches to promoting
sustainable consumption often involve government interventions: to
correct prices, and to provide regulatory frameworks to influence
producers to become more eco-efficient. Unfortunately, the success of
these actions is frequently limited by information barriers. Consumers
have limited information about the social and environmental impacts of
products, and have long relied instead on price information as well as
information available on the product package in making their buying
decisions. This lack of information creates difficulties for consumers
when assessing and understanding the implications of their choices.
Similarly, lack of integrated information about environmental impacts in
the sustainable supply chain could potentially disrupt the entire
system. These disruptions could, in turn, create higher costs for actors
in the supply chain.
Despite the connection between sustainable consumption and sustainable
supply chain management, current research shows little integration
between these areas. Recent technological developments have the
potential to uncover the "black box" of supply chain processes, helping
consumers to make more sustainable buying choices. These innovations
have the capacity to streamline the information flow from producer to
consumer within supply chains. Ontologies, Linked Data, and Semantic Web
technologies can handle the problems that arise when integrating massive
amounts of multi-thematic and multi-perspective information from
heterogeneous sources to answer complex questions that cut through
supply chain domain boundaries. The innovative use of technologies such
as WiFi, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags, smartphones, Quick
Response (QR) codes, and social media enables information tracing as
well as opening supply chain information to the public, thus reducing
the "information asymmetry" that pervades modern supply chains. Reducing
barriers to information would benefit not only consumers but also other
actors in the supply chain.
Our special issue focuses on how information technology can be leveraged
to support transparency of supply chain and consumer trust in order to
support sustainable consumption. One of the key objectives, besides
promoting in-depth discussion on the technological, social, economic,
and political implications of developing sustainable supply chain, is to
bridge the research gap between sustainable consumption and sustainable
supply chain literature.
In addition, we seek to expand and incorporate various research
approaches and methodologies including but not limited to theoretical
framing, empirical studies utilizing quantitative and qualitative data
collection and analysis, modeling, and simulation. Further, papers on
Semantic web approaches that describe the theory and practice of
storing, accessing, searching, mining, processing, and visualizing big
data are invited. Multidisciplinary perspectives connecting the study
of information technology with design science, economics, organizational
studies, and political science are particularly encouraged.
Topics may include but are not limited to:
. Stakeholders involvement in designing information systems that support
sustainable supply chain and sustainable consumption
. Process modeling of sustainable supply chain integration
. Semantic technologies to support sustainable supply chain integration
. Methods and models to deliver trusted supply chain information to
consumers
. Interoperable data architectures that support the integration of
sustainable consumption and sustainable supply chains
. Information architectures that capture the diversity of various
certification schemes to inform consumers and help supply chain
participants to build more sustainable products and services
. The antecedents, processes, and impacts of trust development using
information systems to support sustainable consumption
. Consumer perception, intention, and behavior changes when provided
with multiple dimensions of product information, such as health, social,
and environmental dimensions
. Crowd sourcing and use of social media in supporting sustainable
consumption
. Economics of electronic markets for sustainable production and consumption
. Simulation models to study market responses and other interactions
among information systems, inter-organizational dynamics, and social
processes that are useful for developing systems to support sustainable
supply chain integration
. Governance models and public policies addressing the openness of the
data to support traceability and other public benefits without hampering
the competitiveness of businesses.
. The role of governments or international governing bodies in ensuring
smart data disclosure and integrity of product information.
. Globalization of information systems in terms of, product information
standard, market, consumption, and sustainability.
. Semantic interoperability and heterogeneity
. Knowledge discovery from linked data
. Applications of semantic technologies and linked data
Keywords: Sustainable Supply, Sustainable Consumption, Public Policies
for enhancing Data sharing and transparency, Simulation models, Semantic
Web.
