These environments are highly dynamic and non-deterministic where a massive amount of data is processed unevenly. These characteristics preclude the indiscriminate application of centralised modes of coordination and resource management. As a result decentralised policies, models and mechanisms are being devised and deployed vigorously as a way of dealing with complexity and heterogeneity. In this context adaptivity emerges as an important facet of autonomous behaviour. The prominence of adaptivity as a fundamental behavioural property is manifest in foundational systems such as the Web and the GRID. Adaptivity is interwoven directly into the fabric of systems instead of being grafted onto them as an afterthought. Immer stärker verwischen gegenwärtig die Grenzen zwischen Sach- und Dienstleistungen. Gewinnmargen liegen bei Produktherstellern immer weniger im materiellen Produkt als bei dazugehörigen Dienstleistungen. Dienstleistungsunternehmen stehen ebenfalls in zunehmendem Wettbewerb. Als Reaktion hierauf werden materielle Produkte, Software und Dienstleistungen immer stärker miteinander verwoben angeboten. Charakteristisch für solche hybriden Lösungen ist dabei die intelligente Verzahnung zwischen materiellem Produkt, Software und Dienstleistung, die hierfür bereits bei der Konzeption und Entwicklung eng miteinander verbunden werden und deren Komponenten nur noch schwer voneinander entkoppelt werden können. Der aktuelle Stand der Produkt-, Software- und Dienstleistungsforschung verdeutlicht jedoch im Bereich hybrider Lösungen sowohl eine Empirie- als auch eine Modelllücke. Es fehlen empirische Grundlagen der hybriden Wertschöpfung insgesamt sowie adäquate, fundierte Methoden, Modelle und Werkzeuge zu Gestaltung, Erbringung, Vermarktung und zum Life Cycle Management kombinierter Produkt- und Dienstleistungsbündel. Barcelona. Catalonia. Spain I. AIMS AND SCOPE In this workshop, we aim to convene researchers in the areas of Security, Data Privacy and Artificial Intelligence. We seek to collect the most recent advances in artificial intelligence techniques (i.e. neural networks, fuzzy systems, multi-agent systems, genetic algorithms, image analysis, clustering, etc), which are applied to the protection of privacy and security. Individual privacy protection is a hot topic and it must be addressed to guarantee the proper evolution of a modern society based on the Information and Communication Techniques (ICTs). However, security policies could invade individual privacy, especially after the appearance of the new forms of terrorism. These two concepts (i.e. security and privacy) are somehow opposite because, most of the times, security is achieved by means of privacy invasion. Different forms of evolutionary computation and clustering have been proposed to tackle this problem. Moreover, the protection of critical infrastructures such as airports has invigorated the study of more efficient techniques for pattern recognition, image analysis, etc. This workshop will consider all the artificial intelligence techniques that are used to address these problems. SUBMISSIONS Authors are invited to submit research and application papers following the IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Manuscripts style: two columns, single-spaced, including figures and references, using 10 fonts, and number each page. Submission papers are classified into 3 categorizes (1) full paper (8 pages), (2) short paper (5 pages), and (3) poster (2 pages) representing original, previously unpublished work. Submitted papers will be carefully evaluated based on originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of exposition. Contact author must provide the following information at the AReS web site: paper title, authors' names, affiliations, postal address, phone, fax, and e-mail address of the author(s), about 200-250 word abstract, and about five keywords. Submission of a paper implies that should the paper be accepted, at least one of the authors will register and present the paper in the conference. Proceedings of the ARES conference will be published by IEEE Computer Society Press. Different layers of middleware, e.g., for managing Grid resources, computing tasks, data, and information, form the basic framework for realising an e-Science environment. By automating the management of experiment routines, a scientific workflow management system hides the underlying integration details of the e-Science resources and allows a scientist to focus on the high level domain specific aspects of the experiments. The support for scientific workflows is being recognised as a crucial feature for introducing an e-Science environment to application scientists from different domains. The WSES workshop focuses on practical aspects of scientific workflow management systems: design, implementation, applications in all fields of computational science, interoperability among workflows and the e-Science infrastructure, e.g., knowledge framework, for workflow management. The workshop aims to provide a forum for researchers and developers in the field of e-Science to exchange the latest experience and research ideas on scientific workflow management and e-Science. Live demos of workflow systems and workflow application are welcome. The WSES 07 and WSES 06 were successfully held in the context of ICCS in Beijing in May 29 2007 and in Reading University in May 29 2006. In both years, the workshop attracted around 30 submissions. Each paper was reviewed by at least three referees, and 17 papers, including 9 regular ones and 8 short ones, were accepted. The presentations were organized as three sessions: scientific workflows applications, system architecture and middleware, and development issues. A special session for WSES 07 will appear in the International Journal of Future Generations of Computer Systems (FGCS). Selected papers of WSES 06 have appeared in a special issue of Scientific Programming Journal. Topics Authors are invited to submit original manuscripts that demonstrate current research in all areas of scientific workflow management in e-Science. INTRODUCTION KES-AMSTA-07 is a scientific symposium for research in autonomous agents and multi- agent systems. Agents and multi-agent systems are related to the modern software which has long been recognized as a promising technology for constructing complex and intelligent systems. A key development in the field of agent and multi-agent systems has been the specification of agent communication languages and formalization of ontologies. Agent communication languages are intended to provide standard declarative mechanisms for agents to communicate knowledge and make requests of each other, whereas ontologies are intended for conceptualization of the knowledge domain. In this paradigm cognitive agents of heterogeneous nature possess diverse conceptual views and ontologies the problem of semantic mismatch arises, and a special conflict resolution strategies based on computer-supported negotiation are necessary. The aim of this symposium is to discuss modern approaches and techniques for agent and multi-agent systems and their applications. KES-AMSTA-08 is organized by KES International in cooperation with Inha University, Korea. 2. INFORMATION FOR AUTHORS We encourage perspective KES-AMSTA-07 authors to submit theoretical, experimental, methodological, and application papers. A Ph.D. student session will also be organized. 3. PAPER SUBMISSION AND PUBLICATION All accepted papers must be presented by one of the authors who must register for the conference and pay the fee. To ensure high quality, all papers will be thoroughly reviewed by KE-AMSTA-08 International Programme Committee.
