CALL FOR SPECIAL TRACK PROPOSALS
CBMS 2008 invites proposals for organizing special tracks that will be
held in parallel with the general conference track. A special track
consists of a group of papers in a sub-discipline of a medical
informatics
or a special field. Special tracks are an integral part of the CBMS
conference since year 2005; their papers should report on
significant unpublished work, and are required to meet the same
standards,
and are included in the conference proceedings. Organizer(s) of each
Special Track (ST) are responsible for the quality of the papers in
their
track and manage the review process accordingly, assigning a Program
Committee for the ST.
If you are interested in organizing a ST, please submit your proposal
before November 5,2007 by email to cbms2008(a)jyu.fi. Each proposal needs
to include
- ST title;
- rough estimate of the expected size (usually, 4-5 papers per session,
1-3 sessions per track);
- a brief biography of ST organizer(s) and list of ST program committee
members;
- a draft of ST call for papers.
IMPORTANT DATES
November 5, 2007 Special track proposal submissions

are
not submitted concurrently to a journal or another conference. Each
contribution must be prepared following IEEE 2-column format and should
not exceed the length of 6 (six) Letter-size pages and submitted
electronically before the paper submission deadline either to one of
the
Special Tracks (recommended) or to the General Track indicating

3rd European Conference on Computer Network Defense (EC2ND)
4-5 October 2007, Aldemar Royal Mare Village, Hersonissos, Crete, Greece
http://2007.ec2nd.org/
Call for Papers
The 3rd European Conference on Computer Network Defense
will take place in October 2007 at the Aldemar Royal Mare Village,
Hersonissos, Crete, Greece.
The theme of the conference is the protection of computer networks. The
conference will draw participants from academia and industry in Europe
and beyond to discuss hot topics in applied network and systems security.
EC2ND invites submissions presenting novel ideas at an early stage with
the intention to act as a discussion forum and feedback channel for
promising, innovative security research. While our goal is to solicit
ideas that are not completely worked out, and might have challenging and
interesting open questions, we expect submissions to be supported by
some evidence of feasibility or preliminary quantitative results.
Proceedings will be published by Springer/LNEE.
Topics include but are not limited to:
* Intrusion Detection
* Denial-of-Service
* Privacy Protection
* Security Policy
* Peer-to-Peer and Grid Security
* Network Monitoring
* Web Security
* Vulnerability Management and Tracking
* Network Forensics
* Wireless and Mobile Security
* Cryptography
* Network Discovery and Mapping
* Incident Response and Management
* Malicious Software
* Web Services Security
* Legal and Ethical Issues
Submitting a Paper
You are hereby invited to submit papers up to 6-8 single-spaced pages
long. We particularly encourage position papers on preliminary work that
shows promise, rather than mature and well-polished papers studying
well-known ideas.
Surprising results and thought-provoking ideas will be strongly favored.
All submissions will be reviewed by the Program Committee. Accepted
papers will
be published by Springer as part of the LNEE series. Some papers may
have to
go through a shepherding process in collaboration with one of the PC
members.
Important Dates
* Submissions due: July 8, 2007
* Notification: August 8, 2007
* Final version due: August 22, 2007
